1. Product Overview

The Honeywell CO60PM Evaporative Air Cooler, also known as a swamp cooler, is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. It provides a powerful 1540 CFM airflow, making it ideal for cooling large open rooms, patios, BBQ areas, garages, decks, backyards, or warehouses. This unit combines three appliances in one: an evaporative air cooler, a fan, and a humidifier, offering an energy-saving cooling solution.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the evaporative air cooler from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. Retain all packaging materials for future storage or transport.

3.2 Placement

Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow. For outdoor use, position the cooler in a well-ventilated area, ideally where it can draw in fresh, dry air.

3.3 Filling the Water Tank

The CO60PM features a 15.9-gallon water tank. You can fill it manually or connect it to a continuous water supply.

• Manual Fill: Open the water inlet cover on top of the unit and pour clean water into the tank until the water level indicator reaches the 'MAX' line. Do not overfill.
• Continuous Water Supply: Connect a standard garden hose to the water hose connector located on the side of the unit. Ensure the connection is secure to prevent leaks. The unit will automatically maintain the water level.

3.4 Power Connection

Plug the unit into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. The CO60PM is equipped with a GFCI cord for safety, especially during outdoor use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel

The unit features a simple control panel with rotary knobs for fan speed and cooling function.

4.2 Fan Speed

Turn the 'Speed' knob to select your desired fan speed: Low, Medium, or High. The fan circulates air, providing a breeze even without the cooling function activated.

4.3 Evaporative Cooling

To activate evaporative cooling, ensure the water tank is filled. Turn the 'Cool' knob to the 'ON' position. The water pump will begin to wet the honeycomb cooling pads, and the fan will blow air through the moistened pads, creating a cooler, humidified airflow.

4.4 Oscillation

Some models may include an oscillation feature to distribute cool air more widely. Refer to your unit's specific controls for this function.

4.5 Important Considerations

• This is an evaporative cooler, not an air conditioner. It will not cool as efficiently as a refrigerated AC unit.
• Optimal performance is achieved in hot, dry climates (humidity below 60%).
• Ensure adequate ventilation when operating indoors to prevent excessive humidity buildup.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Water Tank

Regularly clean the water tank to prevent mold and mildew growth. Drain any remaining water and wipe the tank clean with a soft cloth. For thorough cleaning, a mild detergent can be used, followed by rinsing.

5.2 Cleaning/Replacing Cooling Pads

The triple-sided honeycomb cooling pads should be inspected periodically for mineral buildup or debris. If heavily soiled, they can be gently rinsed with water. Replace pads if they are damaged or show significant wear, typically every 1-2 years depending on usage and water quality.

5.3 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
