Installation Steps:
Follow these steps to install the tubular motor into your retractable awning. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.
Video: Official ALEKO Products tutorial on installing the Tubular Motor for Awnings. This video demonstrates the process of disassembling the awning roller, inserting the motor, and reassembling the components.
- Remove End Caps and Brackets: Carefully remove both D-brackets and one roller cap from the ends of your awning's roller. This will expose the interior of the roller tube.
- Align Motor Pegs: Before inserting the motor, ensure the pegs on the motor's end align precisely with the corresponding slots inside the awning roller. This alignment is crucial for proper motor engagement.
- Slide Motor into Roller: Gently slide the tubular motor completely inside the awning roller tube until it is fully seated.
- Secure H-Bracket: Thread the bolts through the H-bracket and secure it to the end of the motor using the provided pin.
- Mount D-Brackets: Insert the bolts through the D-bracket mounts and secure them to the awning frame. Ensure all bolts are tightened with washers and nuts for a secure fit.
- Attach Manual Crank Tool (Optional/Emergency): If desired, or for emergency manual operation, remove the screw from the top of the hand crank tool's shaft. Insert the loop of the hand crank tool into the hole on the motor, ensuring the loop faces towards the ground. Reinsert and tighten the screw with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Reinstall End Brackets: Once the motor is securely in place and all connections are made, reinstall the end brackets on both ends of the roller.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ALEKO tubular motor and awning, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Regular Cleaning: Keep the motor housing and surrounding areas free from dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Inspect Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections and mounting bolts to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Avoid Obstructions: Ensure the awning path is clear of any obstructions during operation. Do not force the awning if it encounters resistance.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the remote control battery (27A 12V) when the remote's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ALEKO tubular motor, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Motor Not Responding:
- Check if the motor is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
- Verify the remote control battery is not depleted. Replace if necessary.
