1. Introduction
The Peruzzo Trail Angel Kids Bicycle Towing Bar is designed to allow an adult to safely tow a child's bicycle. This system enables shared cycling experiences, providing stability and control for the adult while the child learns or rests. The towing bar connects the child's bike to the adult's bike without requiring the removal of wheels or other components from the child's bicycle.

2. Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before assembly and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury.
- Adult Rider Competence: The adult operating the towing bar must be proficient in riding a bicycle and capable of maintaining balance with an attached child's bike.
- Child Rider Engagement: The child being towed must be able to hold their bicycle firmly and follow basic instructions.
- Weight Limit: Do not exceed the maximum recommended weight of 60 pounds (approximately 27 kg) for the child's bicycle and child combined.
- Regular Checks: Before each ride, ensure all connections, bolts, and clamps are securely tightened. Loose components can lead to instability and accidents.
- Handlebar Stability: Ensure the child's bicycle handlebar is secured straight and does not twist freely during turns. Some towing bars require the child's front wheel to be locked straight to prevent instability. Verify your specific setup.
- Clearance: Ensure adequate clearance between the towing bar and the adult bicycle's luggage carrier or other components, especially when encountering bumps or uneven terrain.
- Road Conditions: Use the towing bar on paved, smooth surfaces. Avoid rough terrain, steep inclines, or high-traffic areas until both riders are comfortable with the setup.
3. Package Contents

4. Assembly and Installation
Follow these steps to correctly assemble and install the towing bar. Assembly may take approximately 30 minutes.
4.1. Attaching to the Adult Bicycle
- Locate the adult bicycle attachment clamp. This clamp typically attaches to the seat post of the adult bicycle.
- Position the clamp on the adult bicycle's seat post at a suitable height. Ensure it does not interfere with seat adjustment or other components.
- Securely tighten the clamp using the provided bolts. Ensure the clamp is firm and does not rotate or slide.
- Attach the main towing bar arm to this clamp. Ensure the connection is robust and free of play.

4.2. Attaching to the Child Bicycle
- Locate the child bicycle attachment clamp. This clamp attaches to the front fork/headset area of the child's bicycle.
- Position the clamp on the child's bicycle front fork, ensuring it is centered and does not obstruct steering or braking mechanisms.
- Securely tighten the clamp. It is critical that this clamp is extremely tight to prevent the child's handlebar from twisting independently during turns, which can cause instability.
- Connect the other end of the towing bar to this child bicycle clamp. Ensure a secure and stable connection.
- Verify that the child's front wheel is aligned straight with the towing bar and cannot easily turn independently.

4.3. Final Adjustments
- Once both bikes are connected, check the alignment. The child's bike should track directly behind the adult's bike.
- Ensure all quick-release mechanisms or locking pins are fully engaged.
- Perform a short test ride in a safe, open area to confirm stability and proper function before riding with a child.
5. Operation
The Peruzzo Trail Angel is designed for ease of use once installed.
5.1. Attaching and Detaching the Child's Bike
- To Attach: Align the child's bike with the adult bike. Connect the towing bar's child-side mechanism to the pre-installed child bike clamp. Secure any locking pins or levers.
- To Detach: Disengage the locking pins or levers at the child bike connection point. The child's bike can then be ridden independently. This process should be quick and tool-free.
5.2. Riding with the Towing Bar
- Maintain a steady and predictable riding style. Avoid sudden turns or stops.
- Communicate with the child regularly, especially before turns or stops.
- Be aware of the increased length and weight of the combined bicycles, especially when maneuvering or stopping.
- When not towing, the bar can be folded and secured to the adult bike's seat post or removed entirely. Ensure it is secured to prevent it from swinging or interfering with the adult bike's rear wheel.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your towing bar.
- Cleanliness: Regularly clean the towing bar with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish or materials.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light lubricant to moving parts and pivot points to ensure smooth operation.
- Fastener Checks: Before each use, inspect all bolts, nuts, and clamps for tightness. Re-tighten any loose fasteners. Consider using thread-locking fluid on critical bolts if they frequently loosen.
- Wear and Tear: Inspect the towing bar for any signs of damage, cracks, bends, or excessive wear. Discontinue use if any significant damage is found and replace affected parts or the entire unit.
- Storage: Store the towing bar in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
Address common issues that may arise during the use of the towing bar.
- Issue: Child's bike feels unstable or wobbles excessively.
Solution: Ensure all attachment clamps, especially on the child's front fork/headset, are extremely tight. Verify that the child's handlebar is locked straight and cannot turn independently. Check for any play in the towing bar's connections. - Issue: Nuts or bolts loosen during rides.
Solution: Regularly check and re-tighten all fasteners. Consider replacing frequently loosening nuts with self-locking nuts or applying a removable thread-locking compound. - Issue: Towing bar rubs against the adult bike's rear wheel or luggage carrier when folded or stored.
Solution: Ensure the towing bar is correctly folded and secured according to the manufacturer's instructions. Adjust the height of the adult bike attachment clamp if possible to provide more clearance. If the issue persists, consider removing the bar when not in use. - Issue: Difficulty attaching or detaching the child's bike.
Solution: Practice the attachment and detachment procedure in a stationary position. Ensure all mechanisms are clean and free of debris. Do not force connections.
