Operating Instructions
The Belleview Handleset provides secure and convenient access:
- Exterior Operation: The latch bolt is operated by the thumb piece on the outside. The deadbolt is operated by a key.
- Interior Operation: The interior grip operates the latch bolt. The deadbolt is operated by a thumb turn.

SmartKey Rekeying Instructions
Kwikset's SmartKey Security allows you to re-key your lock to a new key in three simple steps, providing convenience and enhanced security.
- Insert your Current Key fully and turn it 90 degrees clockwise.
- Insert the SmartKey Tool firmly and fully into the SmartKey hole. You will feel a slight click. Remove the SmartKey Tool.
- Remove the Current Key. Insert your New Key fully and turn it 180 degrees counter-clockwise. Your lock is now re-keyed.
