ESP Water Products TP-35 Reverse Osmosis Water Storage Tank Instruction Manual
Model: TKE-TP35
Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your ESP Water Products TP-35 Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Storage Tank. The TP-35 is designed to store and deliver filtered RO water, ensuring a consistent supply for residential and light commercial applications. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and longevity of your product.
Safety Information
- Always depressurize the tank before attempting any maintenance or disconnection.
- Do not expose the tank to freezing temperatures.
- Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
- Do not over-pressurize the tank beyond recommended specifications.
- Use appropriate tools and follow all local plumbing codes during installation.
Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in the package:
- TP-35 Reverse Osmosis Water Storage Tank
- Tank Stand
Setup and Installation
The TP-35 tank is designed for easy integration with most under-sink RO filtration systems. It measures 21.2" x 12.5" and features a 1/4" male connection.
Pre-Installation Check:
- Inspect the Tank: Carefully examine the tank for any signs of damage during shipping.
- Check Air Pre-Charge: The tank comes pre-charged with air. Verify the pressure using a low-pressure gauge. The recommended pre-charge pressure is typically 7-10 PSI (pounds per square inch) when empty. Adjust if necessary using a bicycle pump or air compressor. Do not exceed 10 PSI when empty.
Installation Steps:
- Position the Tank: Place the tank on its stand in a suitable location, typically under the sink, ensuring it is upright and stable.
- Connect to RO System: Connect the 1/4" male connection of the tank to the RO system's post-filter line using appropriate fittings (not included). Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
- Turn on Water Supply: Slowly open the cold water supply valve to the RO system.
- Check for Leaks: Carefully inspect all connections for any signs of leaks. Tighten connections as needed.
- Initial Fill and Flush:
- Allow the RO system to fill the tank completely. This may take several hours depending on water pressure and membrane efficiency.
- Once the tank is full (water flow from the faucet slows to a trickle or stops), open the RO faucet and drain the tank completely. This flushes out any manufacturing residues.
- Repeat the fill and drain cycle at least two to three times before consuming the water.

Operating Instructions
Once installed and flushed, the TP-35 tank operates automatically with your RO system. It stores purified water and delivers it on demand when the RO faucet is opened.
- The tank's 9.2-gallon total volume provides approximately 5.5 gallons of usable water at 40 PSI, as a portion of the space is occupied by air pressure.
- Water flow from the RO faucet will be consistent until the tank is nearly empty, at which point the flow rate will decrease.
- The RO system will automatically refill the tank after water is drawn.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your TP-35 RO tank.
- Air Pressure Check (Annually):
- Close the water supply to the RO system.
- Open the RO faucet and drain the tank completely until water flow stops.
- Use a low-pressure gauge to check the air pressure at the valve on top of the tank.
- The pressure should be between 7-10 PSI. Adjust with a bicycle pump if necessary. Do not over-pressurize.
- Close the RO faucet, open the water supply, and allow the tank to refill.
- Tank Cleaning: The internal food-grade polypropylene liner and chlorobutyl diaphragm are designed to maintain water purity. External cleaning can be done with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- System Sanitization: Follow the sanitization procedures recommended for your overall RO filtration system, which typically includes flushing the tank.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water or very slow flow from RO faucet. | Low tank pressure, clogged filters, or faulty RO membrane. | Check tank air pressure (should be 7-10 PSI when empty). Replace filters or RO membrane if necessary. |
| Tank does not fill completely. | Low incoming water pressure, clogged filters, or faulty auto shut-off valve. | Verify adequate incoming water pressure. Replace filters. Inspect or replace auto shut-off valve. |
| Water tastes or smells unusual. | Contaminated filters or tank. | Perform a full system sanitization and replace all filters. Flush the tank thoroughly. |
| Water leaks from tank connections. | Loose fittings or damaged O-rings/seals. | Tighten connections. Inspect and replace O-rings or seals if damaged. |
