3. Safety Information

4. Installation (Setup)

4.1. Mounting the Amplifier

4.2. Wiring Connections

- Power (BATT+): Connect a heavy-gauge power cable directly from the positive (+) terminal of your vehicle's battery to the BATT+ terminal on the amplifier. Install an in-line fuse holder with the appropriate fuse rating (25A x 1) as close to the battery as possible.
- Ground (GROUND): Connect a heavy-gauge ground cable from the GROUND terminal on the amplifier to a clean, unpainted metal surface of the vehicle chassis. The ground cable should be as short as possible.
- Remote (REMOTE): Connect a remote turn-on wire from your head unit's remote output to the REMOTE terminal on the amplifier. This wire signals the amplifier to turn on and off with your head unit.
- Speaker Connections: Connect your speakers to the SPEAKER CONNECTIONS terminals. Observe correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The amplifier supports 2-channel stereo operation and can be bridged for mono output. Refer to the speaker connection diagram on the amplifier for bridging instructions.
- RCA Inputs (LOW LEVEL): Connect RCA cables from your head unit's pre-amp outputs to the LOW LEVEL inputs on the amplifier.

- Crossover (LOW PASS / HIGH PASS / FULL RANGE):
- LOW PASS: For subwoofers, set the crossover to LOW PASS and adjust the frequency between 35Hz and 155Hz.
- HIGH PASS: For full-range speakers, set the crossover to HIGH PASS (fixed at 200Hz).
- FULL RANGE: For full-range output without filtering, select FULL RANGE.
- Bass Boost: Start with the BASS BOOST set to 0dB. Adjust incrementally if more bass is desired, up to +18dB. Excessive bass boost can cause distortion.

Once installed, operating your Audiotek AT920S amplifier is straightforward.
- Power On/Off: The amplifier will automatically turn on when your head unit is activated (via the remote wire or speaker level sensing) and turn off when the head unit is powered down. The POWER LED indicator will illuminate when the amplifier is on.
- Adjusting Volume: Use your head unit's volume control for overall system volume. The amplifier's INPUT LEVEL (gain) control should be set to match the output of your head unit, not as a volume control.
- Remote Bass Control: Use the included remote bass control to adjust the subwoofer level conveniently from the driver's seat.
- Protection Indicator: The PROTECTION LED will illuminate if the amplifier detects a fault condition (e.g., overheating, short circuit, low impedance). If this occurs, turn off your audio system and investigate the cause.
