Maintenance
To ensure long-term performance and appearance of your Sony STRDH130 receiver, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive pads, scouring powder, or solvents such as alcohol or benzene.
- Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation by keeping the top and sides of the receiver clear of obstructions. Do not block the ventilation holes.
- Dust: Regularly dust the unit to prevent accumulation, which can affect performance and lead to overheating.
- Power Cord: Periodically check the power cord for any damage. If damaged, contact qualified service personnel.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your receiver, try the following basic troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the power button is pressed.
- No Sound: Verify that the correct input source is selected. Check all audio cable connections between the receiver and your audio components, and between the receiver and your speakers. Ensure speaker wires are correctly connected to the appropriate terminals and that speaker A/B selection is correct. Adjust the volume level.
- Poor Radio Reception: Adjust the position of the FM wire antenna and AM loop antenna. Ensure they are fully extended and away from other electronic devices that might cause interference.
- Remote Control Not Working: Check the batteries in the remote control and replace them if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver's remote sensor.
- Unit Shuts Off Automatically: This may be due to the Auto Standby function. If it happens unexpectedly, ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, please refer to the full user manual or contact Sony customer support.
