1. Product Overview

The Thomas 4152 Traceable Full-Scale Thermometer is a precision instrument designed for accurate temperature measurement in various environments. 2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The thermometer is supplied with a 1.5V silver-oxide battery, providing approximately 1.5 years of continuous use. To install or replace the battery, locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Use a small screwdriver to open the compartment, insert the new battery with the correct polarity, and securely close the cover.

2.2 Placement Options

The Thomas 4152 thermometer offers versatile placement options:

  • Magnetic Back: The unit features a magnetic back, allowing for secure attachment to metal surfaces such as incubators, freezers, or water baths.
  • Flip-Open Easel: An integrated flip-open easel allows the thermometer to stand upright on a lab bench or any flat surface for easy viewing.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

Press the On/Off button to power the thermometer on or off.

3.2 Temperature Measurement

Insert the stainless-steel probe into the substance or environment where temperature measurement is required. The piercing tip allows for direct insertion. Readings are updated every second and displayed on the 3/8" LCD readout.

3.3 Switching Temperature Units (°F/°C)

Press the F/C button to toggle between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) temperature scales.

3.4 High/Low Alarms

The thermometer features programmable high and low alarms. Refer to the specific instructions for setting these alarms using the HI ALM and LO ALM buttons. An audible alert will sound when the temperature exceeds or falls below the set limits.

3.5 Minimum/Maximum Memory

Press the MAX/MIN button to view the minimum and maximum temperatures recorded since the last reset. To clear the memory, press and hold the MAX/MIN button.

3.6 Hold Function

Use the H/T button to hold the current temperature reading on the display. Press it again to release and resume live readings.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

5.2 Storage

Store the thermometer in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, when not in use.
