Maintenance

Test Strip Storage

Store Easy Touch Glucose Test Strips in their original vial with the cap tightly closed. Keep them in a cool, dry place between 39°F and 86°F (4°C and 30°C). Do not refrigerate or freeze. Discard any remaining test strips 3 months after opening the vial or on the expiration date, whichever comes first.

Meter Cleaning

Clean the exterior of your Easy Touch meter with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the meter in water or use harsh cleaning agents.

Control Solution Testing

Use Easy Touch Control Solution to check your meter's and test strips' performance. Perform a control solution test when you open a new vial of test strips, suspect the meter or strips are not working correctly, or if your test results do not match how you feel. Control solution is sold separately.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Easy Touch Glucose Test Strips or meter, consider the following:

  • Incorrect Results: Ensure the test strip is not expired and the vial has been properly sealed. Verify that the blood sample size is adequate (0.5 µL). Perform a control solution test to check meter and strip accuracy.
  • Meter Not Turning On: Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Error Messages: Refer to your Easy Touch Glucose Monitoring System user manual for specific error code explanations and solutions.
