1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery/memory card cover located on the side of the camera.

4.3. Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the camera to the supplied AC adaptor using the USB cable.
  2. Plug the AC adaptor into a wall outlet.
  3. The charge lamp on the camera will illuminate during charging and turn off when charging is complete.

4.4. Initial Settings

Upon first powering on the camera, you will be prompted to set the date, time, and time zone. Follow the on-screen instructions using the touch screen to configure these settings.

5. Operating the Camera

5.1. Power On/Off

To power on the camera, slide the front lens barrier downwards. To power off, slide the lens barrier upwards to cover the lens.

5.2. Basic Photography

  1. Power on the camera.
  2. Frame your subject on the 3.0-inch LCD touch screen.
  3. Press the shutter button halfway down to allow the camera to focus. The focus indicator will appear.
  4. Press the shutter button fully down to capture the image.

The DSC-TX20 offers various shooting modes to optimize your photos:

  1. To start recording, press the dedicated MOVIE button.
  2. To stop recording, press the MOVIE button again.
  3. Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode helps reduce blur during video recording, even while walking.

5.6. Playback and Viewing

To view your captured photos and videos:

  1. Press the Playback button (usually indicated by a triangle icon).
  2. Use the touch screen to swipe through images or select videos for playback.
  3. Press the Playback button again to return to shooting mode.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Camera
