Introduction
The Aoyue 968A+ is a versatile repairing system designed for electronic work, combining a hot air rework station, a soldering iron, and a smoke absorber into a single unit. It is capable of removing and repairing surface mounted devices such as SOIC, CHIP, QFP, BLCC, and BGA. Safety Precautions
Always observe the following safety guidelines to prevent injury or damage to the equipment:
- Ensure the unit is connected to a properly grounded power outlet.
- Do not operate the unit in damp or wet conditions.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses.
- The soldering iron and hot air gun reach high temperatures. Avoid direct contact with heated elements.
- Allow the unit to cool down completely before storage or maintenance.
- Use the smoke absorber to minimize exposure to soldering fumes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
- Remove Shipping Screw: Before initial use, locate and remove the red shipping screw from the bottom of the main unit. Failure to do so may damage the station. The caution label on the unit also advises this.

- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the back of the unit and then to a suitable power outlet. The main power switch is located on the back of the unit.
- Connect Soldering Iron: Plug the soldering iron connector into the designated port on the front panel.
- Connect Hot Air Gun: Plug the hot air gun connector into its designated port.
- Assemble Iron Stand: Assemble the premium iron stand. It includes a holder for the soldering iron, a solder spool holder, a brass coil cleaner, and a sponge tray.

- Connect Smoke Absorber/Vacuum Pen: The unit features a built-in smoke absorber and a vacuum pickup tool. These utilize the same port. Connect the desired attachment to the port on the front panel.
Operating Instructions
General Operation
After turning on the main power switch on the back, the front panel displays will show "OFF" for both the soldering iron and heater. Individual components are activated via their respective switches on the front panel.

Soldering Iron
- Activation: Flip the "SOLDERING IRON" switch to the "ON" position. The display will show the current temperature.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use the "TEMPERATURE" knob to set the desired temperature for the soldering iron. The display will briefly show the set temperature before returning to the actual temperature. The temperature range is 200 - 480°C (392 - 896°F).
- Smoke Absorber: To activate the smoke absorber, flip the "SMOKE ABSORBER" switch to "ON". This feature helps extract fumes away from your workspace.

- Cleaning: After use, clean the soldering iron tip using the brass coil cleaner or the wet sponge in the iron stand.
Hot Air Rework
- Activation: Flip the "SMD REWORK" switch to the "ON" position. The heater display will activate.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons under "HEATER" to adjust the hot air temperature. The temperature range is 100 - 480°C (212 - 896°F).
- Airflow Adjustment: Use the knob on the right side of the unit to adjust the airflow. The blue indicator will move up and down to show the airflow level. The hot air gun provides up to 500W of power.
- Vacuum Pickup Tool: For component removal, attach the vacuum pickup tool to the designated port. This tool comes with 3 suction head sizes.

- Auto-Cooling: The hot air gun features an auto-cooling function to lower the nozzle temperature after each use, enhancing safety and extending component life.

Troubleshooting
