Setup
1. Placement
Place the unit on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibrations. Allow adequate space around the unit for proper ventilation.
2. Power Connection
- Ensure the unit's POWER button is in the OFF position.
- Connect the supplied power cord to the AC IN terminal on the rear panel of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a suitable wall outlet.
3. Audio Connections
Connect the AD-RW900-B to your audio system using RCA cables.
- Connecting to an Amplifier/Receiver (Output):
Connect the LINE OUT (RCA) jacks on the AD-RW900-B to an available audio input (e.g., CD, AUX, TAPE IN) on your amplifier or receiver. Match the red plug to the R (right) jack and the white plug to the L (left) jack.
- Connecting External Audio Sources (Input):
To record from an external device (e.g., turntable, another cassette deck, or a digital audio player), connect its audio output to the LINE IN (RCA) jacks on the AD-RW900-B. Match red to R and white to L.
Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
- Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. The display will light up.
- Use the SOURCE button on the front panel or remote to select the desired playback or recording source (CD, TAPE, USB, LINE IN).
CD Playback
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD (audio CD or MP3 CD) onto the tray with the label side up.
- Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray. The unit will read the disc.
- Press the PLAY (►) button to start playback.
- Use the SKIP (►►| / |◄◄) buttons to navigate between tracks.
- Press STOP (■) to stop playback.
Cassette Playback
- Open the cassette deck door.
- Insert a cassette tape with the desired side facing forward.
- Close the cassette deck door.
- Press the PLAY (►) button for the cassette deck to start playback.
- The unit features auto-reverse. To manually reverse the tape side, press the REV MODE button.
- Use the FAST FORWARD (►►) and REWIND (◄◄) buttons for tape navigation.
- Press STOP (■) to stop playback.
CD Recording
The AD-RW900-B can record to CD-R or CD-RW discs. Use audio-specific CD-R/RW discs for best results.
- Insert a blank recordable CD (CD-R or CD-RW) into the CD tray.
- Select the desired input source (TAPE, USB, or LINE IN) using the SOURCE button.
- Adjust the REC LEVEL knob to ensure the recording level does not peak into the red on the display.
- Press the RECORD (●) button for the CD section. The unit will enter record-pause mode.
- Start playback on your source device (e.g., press PLAY on the cassette deck).
- Press PLAY (►) on the CD section to begin recording.
- To stop recording, press STOP (■) on the CD section.
- Finalizing the CD: After recording, it is crucial to finalize the CD to make it playable on other CD players. Press the FINALIZE/ERASE button (CD section) and follow the on-screen prompts.
Cassette Recording
The unit supports recording to standard cassette tapes.
- Insert a blank cassette tape into the cassette deck.
- Select the desired input source (CD, USB, or LINE IN) using the SOURCE button.
- Adjust the REC LEVEL knob to ensure optimal recording levels.
- Press the RECORD (●) button for the cassette deck. This will also engage PLAY.
- Start playback on your source device (e.g., press PLAY on the CD section).
- To stop recording, press STOP (■) on the cassette deck.
USB Playback and Recording
The AD-RW900-B supports USB flash drives for MP3 playback and recording audio to MP3 files.
- USB Playback: Insert a USB flash drive into the front or rear USB port. Select USB as the source. Use the playback controls to navigate and play MP3 files.
- USB Recording: Select the desired input source (CD, TAPE, or LINE IN). Insert a USB flash drive. Press the RECORD (●) button for the USB section. Start playback on your source. Press PLAY (►) on the USB section to begin recording.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Lens Cleaning: If CD playback issues occur, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner disc.
- Cassette Head Cleaning: Regularly clean the cassette deck's heads, capstans, and pinch rollers using a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. This helps maintain sound quality and prevent tape damage.
- Demagnetizing: Periodically demagnetize the cassette heads using a cassette head demagnetizer to prevent high-frequency loss.
