- Power Connection: Plug the compressor's power cord into a standard 120-volt electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Flip the power switch to the 'ON' position. The compressor will begin to fill the air tank. The pressure gauge will show the increasing pressure.

Figure 4: The powerful 1/3 HP four-cylinder piston compressor, capable of delivering 78 liters/minute of airflow (2.75 CFM).
- Adjust Pressure: The compressor features a true diaphragm pressure regulator. To adjust the output pressure, pull up the adjustment knob, turn it clockwise to increase pressure or counter-clockwise to decrease pressure, then push the knob down to lock the setting. The gauge will display the regulated output pressure.
- Automatic Shut-Off: The TC-848 is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature. The compressor will stop when the tank reaches its maximum pressure and restart automatically when the pressure drops below a certain threshold, ensuring consistent pressure and prolonging motor life.
- Using with Airbrush/Spray Gun: Once the desired pressure is set, you can begin using your airbrush or mini detail spray gun. The 4.0-liter air tank ensures a steady, pulsation-free airflow for smooth operation.

Figure 5: The Master Airbrush TC-848 compressor supports airbrushing for all airbrush types, applications, paints, and color media, suitable for beginners to advanced artists.
- Power Off: When finished, turn the power switch to the 'OFF' position. Depressurize the system by activating your airbrush until the gauge reads zero.
Maintenance
- Drain Water Trap: Regularly check and drain the water trap filter to remove accumulated moisture. This prevents moisture from reaching your airbrush and affecting your work. Simply press the button at the bottom of the water trap to release condensed water.
- Clean Exterior: Keep the exterior of the compressor clean and free of dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Air Filter: Periodically inspect the air intake filter for cleanliness. Clean or replace if necessary to ensure optimal airflow and prevent dust from entering the compressor.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the compressor in a cool, dry place. Ensure the air tank is depressurized before storage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor does not turn on. | No power, faulty switch, or thermal overload. | Check power connection and outlet. Ensure switch is ON. Allow unit to cool if it has been running for a long time. |
| Low or inconsistent air pressure. | Regulator setting too low, air leaks, or clogged filter. | Adjust regulator pressure. Check hose connections for leaks. Clean or replace air filter. |
| Compressor runs continuously. | Air leak in system or faulty pressure switch. | Check all connections for leaks. If problem persists, contact customer support. |
| Excessive noise or vibration. | Loose components or unit not on a stable surface. | Ensure all components are secure. Place on a flat, stable surface. |
| Moisture in air output. | Water trap needs draining. | Regularly drain the water trap filter. |
