1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and care of your Casio G-Shock GA-200-1AJF watch. The GA-200-1AJF is a robust timepiece featuring both analog and digital displays, designed for durability and functionality in various environments. 2. Initial Setup

Before using your watch, it is important to set the current time, date, and home city. Familiarize yourself with the watch buttons:

  • A (ADJUST): Used to enter and exit setting modes, and to confirm settings.
  • B (REVERSE): Used to scroll backward through settings or decrease values.
  • C (MODE): Used to cycle through different watch modes (Timekeeping, World Time, Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, Alarm).
  • D (FORWARD): Used to scroll forward through settings or increase values.

2.1. Setting the Home City and Time Zone

  1. In Timekeeping Mode, hold down button A until the city code starts to flash. This indicates the setting mode.
  2. Use buttons B and D to select your desired Home City code. Refer to the world time city code list for your region.
  3. Press button C to cycle through other settings: DST (Daylight Saving Time), 12/24-hour format, Seconds, Hour, Minute, Year, Month, Day.
  4. Use buttons B and D to adjust the flashing value.
  5. After setting all values, press button A to exit the setting mode. The analog hands will automatically adjust to match the digital time.

2.2. Adjusting Analog Hand Position (if misaligned)

  1. In Timekeeping Mode, hold down button A until the city code flashes, then press C repeatedly until "H.SET" appears.
  2. If the hour and minute hands are not at 12 o'clock, use buttons B and D to adjust them to the 12 o'clock position.
  3. Press button A to return to Timekeeping Mode.

3. Operating Modes

Press button C to cycle through the watch's various modes:

  • Timekeeping Mode: Displays the current time and date.
  • World Time Mode: Displays the current time in 48 cities (29 time zones).
  • Stopwatch Mode: Measures elapsed time, split times, and two finishes.
  • Countdown Timer Mode: Functions as a countdown timer.
  • Alarm Mode: Allows setting up to 5 daily alarms and an hourly time signal.

3.1. World Time Mode

In World Time Mode, use buttons B and D to scroll through different city codes. The digital display will show the current time for the selected city.

3.2. Stopwatch Mode

  1. Enter Stopwatch Mode.
  2. Press button D to start the stopwatch.
  3. Press button D again to stop.
  4. Press button A to reset the stopwatch to zero.

3.3. Countdown Timer Mode

  1. Enter Countdown Timer Mode.
  2. Hold button A until the current countdown time starts to flash.
  3. Use buttons B and D to set the desired countdown start time.
  4. Press button A to exit the setting mode.
  5. Press button D to start the countdown.
  6. Press button D again to pause/resume.
  7. Press button A to reset the timer to its start value.

3.4. Alarm Mode

  1. Enter Alarm Mode. Use button D to cycle through AL1, AL2, AL3, AL4, AL5, and SIG (Hourly Time Signal).
  2. To set an alarm, select the desired alarm (e.g., AL1) and hold button A until the alarm time starts to flash.
  3. Use buttons B and D to set the alarm hour and minute. Press C to switch between hour and minute settings.
  4. Press button A to exit the setting mode.
  5. To turn an alarm ON/OFF, select the alarm and press button D. An indicator will show if the alarm is active.
  6. To activate/deactivate the Hourly Time Signal (SIG), select SIG and press button D.

4. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your G-Shock watch.

4.1. Cleaning

Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild neutral detergent, then wipe dry. Avoid using volatile agents like thinner or benzine, as they may damage the resin components.

4.2. Water Resistance

Your GA-200-1AJF watch is water-resistant to 200 meters (20 BAR). This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and shallow diving. However, avoid operating buttons while the watch is submerged in water to prevent water ingress.

4.3. Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a lithium metal battery. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it is time to replace the battery.
