1. Setup and Installation
The Wesco 16L Automatic Pull-Out Waste Bin is designed for easy installation in kitchen cabinets with hinged doors.
1.1 Requirements
- Cabinet Type: Suitable for cabinets with hinged doors.
- Minimum Cabinet Width: A minimum internal cabinet width of 30 cm (approximately 11.8 inches) is required for proper installation and operation.

1.2 Installation Steps
- Positioning the Base: Place the sliding frame of the waste bin unit on the floor of your cabinet. Ensure it is positioned as close as possible to the cabinet door. This optimal placement allows the lid to open fully and facilitates easy removal of the inner buckets.
- Secure the Base: With the cabinet door closed and the unit pushed back, mark the positions for the four screws on the cabinet floor. Use appropriate screws (not included) to firmly attach the sliding frame to the cabinet floor.
- Insert the Waste Bin: Once the frame is secured, place the waste bin housing onto the sliding frame. It should fit securely.
- Place Inner Buckets: Insert the two inner buckets into the waste bin housing.

Tip: To ensure the lid opens maximally and the bin is easy to remove, align the sliding mechanism directly with the cabinet door's bottom edge. Close the cabinet door completely to push the unit back slightly, then secure it in this optimal position.
2. Operation
The Wesco 16L Automatic Pull-Out Waste Bin is designed for convenient and hygienic waste disposal.
2.1 Using the Pull-Out Mechanism
- To access the waste bins, simply pull the unit forward using the integrated handle or the front of the bin.
- The patented automatic lid mechanism will lift the lid as the bin is pulled out, providing full access to the inner compartments.
- To close, gently push the unit back into the cabinet. The lid will automatically lower and seal the compartments.

2.2 Waste Separation
The bin includes two separate inner buckets, each with a capacity of 8 liters, totaling 16 liters. This allows for convenient separation of different types of waste, such as organic waste and recyclables.
- Place appropriate waste bags into each inner bucket. For the 8-liter buckets, 10-liter or 15-liter waste bags are often suitable for a good fit.
- Empty the buckets regularly to maintain hygiene and prevent odors.
3. Maintenance and Care
Regular cleaning and proper care will ensure the longevity and hygienic operation of your Wesco waste bin.
3.1 Cleaning the Inner Buckets
- Remove the inner buckets from the main housing.
- Wash the buckets with warm soapy water. A mild detergent is recommended.
- Rinse thoroughly and allow them to dry completely before placing them back into the housing.
3.2 Cleaning the Exterior and Mechanism
- Wipe the exterior surfaces of the waste bin and the lid with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Periodically check the sliding mechanism for any debris and clean as necessary to ensure smooth operation. Do not lubricate with oil or grease, as this can attract dust and dirt.
4. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Wesco waste bin, please refer to the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lid does not open or close automatically. | Obstruction in the lid mechanism or incorrect installation. | Check for any debris obstructing the lid's movement. Ensure the bin is correctly installed and aligned with the cabinet door as per Section 1.2. |
| Bin does not slide smoothly. | Debris in the sliding rails or misaligned installation. | Clean the sliding rails to remove any dirt or debris. Verify that the unit is securely and correctly mounted to the cabinet floor. |
| Unpleasant odors persist. | Infrequent emptying or inadequate cleaning. | Empty the waste bins more frequently. Thoroughly clean the inner buckets and the main housing as described in Section 3. Consider using odor-absorbing products if necessary. |
