1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1. Attaching a Lens

To attach a lens, align the mounting mark on the lens with the lens mount index on the camera body. Rotate the lens clockwise until it clicks into place. Ensure the lens is securely fastened before use. The D800E is compatible with Nikon F (FX) mount lenses.

2.2. Inserting the Battery

3. Operating the Camera

3.1. Powering On and Basic Settings

Turn the camera on using the power switch. The 3.2-inch LCD monitor will display shooting information. Adjust basic settings such as date, time, and language via the camera's menu system.

3.2. Photography Modes

The D800E offers various exposure control modes:

• Programmed Auto (P): Camera sets shutter speed and aperture for optimal exposure.
• Shutter-Priority Auto (S): User selects shutter speed, camera sets aperture.
• Aperture-Priority Auto (A): User selects aperture, camera sets shutter speed.
• Manual (M): User controls both shutter speed and aperture.

Audio input is supported via a microphone, with adjustable sensitivity.

Images and videos can be reviewed on the 3.2-inch, 921,000-dot LCD monitor. The monitor features anti-glare coating and auto brightness control for clear viewing. Images can be enlarged up to 46x for detailed focus confirmation.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning the Camera
