Setup

1. Unpacking and Inspection:

Carefully remove the monitor and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage. If any components are missing or damaged, contact customer support.

2. Powering the Device:

The EssentiA+ monitor can be powered by batteries or an external USB power source.

3. Connecting the Cuff:

Insert the air tube connector from the cuff firmly into the air jack on the side of the monitor unit.

4. Setting Date and Time:

Upon first use or after battery replacement, the device may prompt you to set the date and time. Refer to the display and use the 'SET' button to adjust values and 'M' (Memory) button to confirm and move to the next setting. Accurate date and time are crucial for tracking historical readings.

Operating Instructions

1. Before Taking a Measurement:

2. Applying the Arm Cuff:

Ensure the cuff is applied directly to bare skin. If sleeves are rolled up, ensure they do not constrict the arm.

  1. Slide your left arm through the cuff loop. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
  2. Position the cuff so the bottom edge is approximately 1-2 cm (0.4-0.8 inches) above your elbow joint. The artery mark (usually a red circle or arrow) on the cuff should be aligned with your brachial artery on the inside of your arm.
  3. Tighten the cuff around your arm using the Velcro fastener. It should be snug but not uncomfortably tight. You should be able to insert two fingers between the cuff and your arm.

3. Taking a Measurement:

Once the cuff is correctly applied and you are in a relaxed position:

  1. Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will automatically inflate.
  2. Remain still and silent during the measurement. Do not talk or move your arm.
  3. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your systolic pressure (SYS), diastolic pressure (DIA), and pulse rate will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  4. The reading will automatically be stored in the selected user's memory.

4. Understanding Your Readings:

5. Using Dual-User Memory:

The monitor supports two users, each with 60 memory slots. To switch between users or view past readings:

Maintenance

1. Cleaning:

Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit or cuff in water.

2. Storage:

Store the device in its protective carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Avoid bending the air tube excessively.

3. Battery Replacement:

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace all four AA batteries with new ones. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
