Setup & Installation

Assembly Steps

  1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the circuit you are working on is turned off at the main circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Prepare Mounting Location: Ensure the junction box is securely mounted and capable of supporting the fixture's weight. Install the mounting bracket to the junction box.
  3. Adjust Chain Length: Determine the desired hanging height for your chandelier. Adjust the chain length by removing links as necessary. The overall height can be up to 151 inches.
  4. Wire Connections: Carefully connect the fixture's electrical wires to the house wires. Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box, the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box, and the ground wire from the fixture to the bare copper or green ground wire from the junction box. Secure connections with wire nuts and electrical tape.
  5. Secure Canopy: Carefully push the wires into the junction box and raise the canopy to the ceiling, securing it to the mounting bracket with the provided screws.
  6. Install Bulbs: Screw 18 Candelabra Base (E12) bulbs (max 60 watts each, not included) into the sockets. LED bulbs are compatible.
  7. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Operating Instructions

The Elk Lighting Gloucester Chandelier is designed for simple operation via a standard wall switch. If connected to a compatible dimmer switch (not included), the light output can be adjusted.

  • Turning On/Off: Use the wall switch connected to the fixture to turn the chandelier on or off.
  • Dimming (Optional): If a compatible dimmer switch is installed, rotate or slide the dimmer control to adjust the brightness level of the chandelier. Ensure that the bulbs used are dimmable.
