4. Operating Instructions

The Philips HP4395 offers versatile settings for optimal drying and styling.

Powering On/Off:

  • To turn on the hair dryer, slide the main switch to your desired speed setting.
  • To turn off the hair dryer, slide the main switch back to the '0' (off) position.

Speed and Temperature Settings:

The appliance features 6 flexible speed and temperature settings, typically controlled by two separate switches or a combined switch:

  • Speed Settings: Adjust the fan speed for gentle or powerful airflow. Higher speed settings are ideal for quick drying, while lower speeds are suitable for styling.
  • Temperature Settings: Select from various heat levels. Use higher heat for faster drying and styling, and lower heat for gentle drying or to finish a style.
  • Recommendation: Start with a lower heat and speed setting, especially for fine or damaged hair, and increase as needed.

Cool Shot Function:

The Cool Shot button provides a burst of cold air. This function is essential for setting your hairstyle. After drying and styling a section of hair with heat, press and hold the Cool Shot button to cool the hair quickly, locking the style in place for longer-lasting results.

Ionic Conditioning:

This hair dryer features an active ionic function. When the appliance is switched on, negative ions are released to reduce static, condition the hair, and smooth the hair cuticles, intensifying the hair's shine and glossiness. You may notice a faint humming sound or a slight odor, which is normal for ionic technology.

Using the Concentrator:

The narrow concentrator attachment is designed to direct airflow to specific sections of your hair. This is particularly useful for precise styling, straightening, or creating specific looks. Use a round brush with the concentrator for best results.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.

  3. Air Inlet Grille: The air inlet grille at the back of the hair dryer can accumulate dust and hair. Regularly clean this grille using a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner to ensure optimal airflow and prevent overheating.
  4. Concentrator: Remove the concentrator and clean it with a damp cloth if necessary.

Storage:
