  • Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  • Empty and clean the drip tray after each use or when full. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse.
  • Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.2 Water Filter Replacement

The Brita Maxtra water filter should be replaced regularly according to the filter manufacturer's recommendations, typically every 4 weeks or after filtering a certain volume of water. A filter change indicator may be present on the appliance or filter itself.

  1. Unplug the appliance.

6.3 Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the appliance, especially in hard water areas. Descaling is necessary to maintain performance and efficiency. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.

  • Use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines or water dispensers, following the product's instructions.
  • Alternatively, a solution of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio) can be used.
  • Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  • Run several dispensing cycles until the tank is empty. Ensure a large container is used to collect the solution.
  • After descaling, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run at least two full cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
