4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your BW Car Rear View Monitor:
- Choose a Mounting Location: Select a flat, clean surface on your dashboard or another suitable area in your vehicle. Ensure the location does not obstruct your view of the road or interfere with airbags. The monitor's swivel stand allows for flexible positioning.
- Mount the Monitor: Clean the chosen surface thoroughly. Remove the protective film from the adhesive sticker on the bottom of the swivel stand and firmly press the monitor onto the surface. Hold for a few seconds to ensure a strong bond. Adjust the monitor angle using the swivel mechanism for optimal viewing.
- Connect Video Sources: The monitor supports two video inputs, labeled V1 and V2.
- Connect your primary video source (e.g., backup camera) to the yellow RCA connector labeled AV1.
- Connect a secondary video source (e.g., DVD player) to the white RCA connector labeled AV2.

- Connect Power: Connect the red power connector to a DC 12V or 24V power source in your vehicle. Ensure proper polarity (red for positive, black for negative). For backup camera integration, it is recommended to connect the power lead to the vehicle's reverse light circuit, allowing the monitor to automatically activate when the vehicle is put into reverse.
- Cable Management: Route all cables neatly and securely to prevent interference with driving or damage to the cables.

5. Operating Instructions
The BW monitor is designed for simple operation:

If multiple video sources are connected, the monitor typically prioritizes the input connected to AV1 or automatically switches to the active signal. Specific manual switching instructions are not provided, but the back of the unit features 'MENU', '+', and '-' buttons for potential adjustments.
- Display Adjustment: Use the buttons on the back of the monitor (refer to Figure 5.1) to access and navigate the menu for display adjustments such as brightness, contrast, or color, if available.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor does not power on. | No power supply or incorrect wiring. | Check power connections (DC 12V/24V). Ensure correct polarity. Verify the power source is active. |
| No image displayed (black screen). | No video signal input or incorrect video connection. | Ensure the video source (e.g., camera) is powered on and functioning. Check the RCA cable connections to AV1/AV2. The screen will only be bright when linked to a signal source. |
| Image is distorted or unclear. | Poor video signal quality or incorrect display settings. | Check the video cable for damage or loose connections. Adjust brightness, contrast, and color settings using the monitor's menu buttons. |
| Monitor stand is loose. | Adhesive sticker losing grip or swivel mechanism wear. | Re-secure the stand with a stronger adhesive if necessary. The swivel mechanism may not be user-adjustable for tightness. |
