Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the controller. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and then wipe dry. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid tangling the USB cable.
  • Cable Care: Do not pull on the cable to disconnect the controller. Always grasp the USB plug firmly.

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
Controller not responding.Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the PlayStation 3 console. Try a different USB port. Restart the console.
Buttons (e.g., SELECT, START) are unresponsive.Check for any physical obstructions or debris around the buttons. If the issue persists, the internal mechanism might be faulty.
Accidental activation of Quick Turbo button. The Quick Turbo button is located on the back. Adjust your grip to avoid unintentional presses. Some users may find it beneficial to modify their grip or consider disabling the button if possible (though not officially supported).
L2/R2 buttons are too sensitive or register multiple presses. This can be a characteristic of the trigger design. Practice with the controller to adapt to its sensitivity. If the issue is severe, it might indicate a defect.
Analog sticks drift or do not center properly.Ensure the analog stick sensitivity is set appropriately. If drift persists, it may indicate wear or damage to the analog stick mechanism.
