Introduction to Pokémon X
Pokémon X invites players to become a Pokémon Trainer and embark on an adventure in the visually stunning Kalos region. This game introduces new Pokémon to catch, trade, and battle, alongside many past favorites. The world comes to life with detailed graphics and intense 3D battles, offering a fresh experience for both new and returning players.

Setup and Initial Gameplay
To begin your journey in Pokémon X, ensure your Nintendo 3DS system is powered off before inserting the game cartridge. Carefully slide the Pokémon X game cartridge into the game card slot on your Nintendo 3DS system until it clicks into place. Power on your Nintendo 3DS. The game icon for Pokémon X will appear on the HOME Menu. Select the icon to launch the game.
Upon starting the game, you will journey through the Kalos region and choose one of three new starter Pokémon: Grass-type Chespin, Fire-type Fennekin, or Water-type Froakie. Your adventure will involve exploring the region, encountering wild Pokémon, and challenging other trainers.
Operating and Key Features
Pokémon X introduces several new features and gameplay mechanics to enhance the trainer experience:
- Fully 3D World: Experience mainline Pokémon gameplay with fully 3D characters, battles, and environments.
- New Battle Types: Engage in Sky Battles, where only flying Pokémon or those with the Levitate ability can participate, and Horde Encounters, where you face multiple wild Pokémon at once.
- Pokémon-Amie: This feature allows you to pet, feed, and play with your Pokémon using the Nintendo 3DS touchscreen. Forming a deeper bond with your Pokémon through Pokémon-Amie can provide benefits in battles, such as increased critical hit rates or avoiding attacks.
- Super Training: Utilize new training tools to improve your Pokémon's stats. Super Training involves mini-games that help you boost specific attributes of your Pokémon.
- Mega Evolution: Discover Mega Evolution, a temporary power-up for certain Pokémon during battle, significantly increasing their stats and sometimes changing their type or ability.
- Player Search System (PSS): Connect and communicate with players around the world at any time to challenge them to a battle, trade Pokémon, and much more. The PSS allows for seamless online interaction.
- Character Customization: For the first time in a main series Pokémon game, you can customize your trainer's appearance with various outfits and accessories.
