1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance and retain them for future reference. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the iron from its packaging. Remove any protective films or stickers from the soleplate or body of the iron. Retain the packaging for storage or future transport.

3.2 Before First Use

It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to be emitted during the first few minutes of use. This is due to the heating of manufacturing residues and will quickly dissipate. To prepare the iron:

1. Fill the water tank as described in section 3.3.
2. Set the temperature control dial to the maximum setting.
3. Allow the iron to heat up for a few minutes.
4. Press the steam shot button several times to clear any residue from the steam vents.
5. Iron an old piece of fabric (e.g., a cotton cloth) to ensure no residue is transferred to your garments.

3.3 Filling the Water Tank

Always unplug the iron before filling the water tank.

• Ensure the steam control selector is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam).
• Open the water filling inlet cover.
• Using a measuring cup, carefully pour tap water into the water tank up to the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill.
• Close the water filling inlet cover securely.
• For areas with very hard water, it is recommended to use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water to prolong the life of the iron and prevent scale buildup. Do not use perfumed water, water from tumble dryers, or chemically descaled water.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Temperature Setting

Always check the care label on your garment for ironing instructions. If unsure, test on an inconspicuous area first.

1. Place the iron on its heel rest on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
2. Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet (230V).
3. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting according to the fabric type. The pilot light will illuminate.
4. Wait for the pilot light to turn off, indicating the iron has reached the selected temperature. It will cycle on and off during ironing to maintain the temperature.

4.2 Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the steam control selector is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam symbol). Select the appropriate temperature and wait for the iron to heat up.

4.3 Steam Ironing

Steam ironing is suitable for most fabrics except delicate ones like silk or synthetic materials. Ensure the water tank is filled.

1. Set the temperature control dial to a steam-suitable setting (usually between two dots '••' and three dots '•••' or 'MAX'). The pilot light will illuminate.
2. Once the pilot light turns off, indicating the iron has reached temperature, move the steam control selector to the desired steam level.
3. Begin ironing. The iron will continuously emit steam at approximately 35g/min.

4.4 Steam Shot Function (125g)

The steam shot provides an extra burst of steam for stubborn creases. This function can be used during steam ironing or for vertical steaming.

• Ensure the iron is at a high temperature setting (three dots '•••' or 'MAX').
• Press the steam shot button firmly. Wait a few seconds between shots to allow the iron to reheat and build up steam.

4.5 Vertical Steam

The vertical steam function is ideal for removing creases from hanging garments, curtains, or drapes.

• Hang the garment on a hanger.
• Set the iron to the maximum temperature setting and wait for the pilot light to turn off.
• Hold the iron vertically, a few centimeters away from the fabric.
• Press the steam shot button repeatedly to release bursts of steam.
• Do not allow the soleplate to touch the fabric during vertical steaming.

4.6 Spray Function

The spray function provides a fine mist of water to dampen fabrics, making it easier to remove creases, especially during dry ironing.

• Ensure the water tank is filled.
• Press the spray button to release a mist of water onto the garment.

4.7 Automatic Shut-off System

For safety and energy saving, the iron is equipped with an automatic shut-off system. If the iron is left motionless:

• Horizontally on its soleplate: It will switch off after approximately 30 seconds.
• Vertically on its heel rest: It will switch off after approximately 8 minutes.

To reactivate the iron, simply move it. The pilot light will illuminate, and the iron will reheat to the selected temperature.

5. Maintenance and Storage

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your iron.

5.1 After Each Use

1. Set the steam control selector to 'Dry Ironing' and the temperature dial to 'MIN'.
2. Unplug the iron from the power outlet.
3. Allow the iron to cool down completely.
4. Open the water filling inlet and carefully empty any remaining water from the tank.
5. Close the water filling inlet.

5.2 Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the Silver Satin soleplate:

• Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool.
• Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
• Do not use abrasive scouring pads, powders, or harsh chemicals as these can damage the soleplate.
• If starch or other residue adheres to the soleplate, clean it with a specialized iron soleplate cleaner while the iron is slightly warm (unplugged).

5.3 Anti-Calc / Self-Clean System

The iron features an automatic anti-calc system to reduce mineral buildup. For enhanced cleaning, use the self-clean function periodically (e.g., once a month, depending on water hardness).

1. Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
2. Plug in the iron and set the temperature control dial to 'MAX'. Set the steam control selector to 'Dry Ironing'.
3. Wait for the pilot light to turn off.
4. Unplug the iron.
5. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
6. Move the steam control selector to the 'Self Clean' position (if available, or press and hold the self-clean button). Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, flushing out mineral deposits.
7. Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
8. Plug the iron back in, set to 'MAX' temperature, and allow it to heat up to dry the soleplate.
9. Unplug and store once cool.

5.4 Storage

Once the iron is completely cool and empty of water, store it vertically on its heel rest in a safe, dry place, out of reach of children.
