Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the proper installation, care, and maintenance of your Casio MRP-700 Marine Gear Resin Watch Strap. This replacement strap is designed for specific Casio MRP-700 series watches. Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding with installation.
Installation
Installing your new watch strap requires careful handling to avoid damage to your watch or the new strap. It is recommended to use a spring bar tool for this procedure.
Tools Required:
- Spring bar tool (recommended)
- Small flat-head screwdriver (alternative, use with caution)
- Soft cloth to protect the watch case
Procedure:
- Prepare the Watch: Place your watch face down on a soft, clean cloth to prevent scratches.
- Remove the Old Strap:
- Locate the spring bars that hold the current strap to the watch lugs.
- Using a spring bar tool, gently compress one end of the spring bar and pull the strap away from the watch case.
- Once one end is free, the other end should release easily. Repeat for the other side of the strap.
- Carefully remove the spring bars from the old strap. You may need to reuse them if new ones are not provided with the replacement strap.
- Install the New Strap:
- Insert a spring bar into one end of the new strap.
- Align one end of the spring bar with a lug hole on the watch case.
- Using the spring bar tool, compress the other end of the spring bar and guide it into the corresponding lug hole. Ensure both ends of the spring bar are securely seated in the lug holes.
- Gently pull on the strap to confirm it is firmly attached and does not come loose.
- Repeat this process for the other half of the strap.

Usage
Once installed, the Casio MRP-700 resin watch strap functions like any standard watch band. The stainless steel buckle allows for adjustable sizing to fit various wrist sizes.
Adjusting the Strap:
- Thread the longer end of the strap through the buckle.
- Select a hole that provides a comfortable and secure fit on your wrist. The watch should not slide freely but also not feel too tight.
- Secure the pin of the buckle into the chosen hole.
- Pass the excess strap through the two keepers to prevent it from flapping.
Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your resin watch strap.
Cleaning:
- Wipe the strap regularly with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, sweat, and oils.
- For more thorough cleaning, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Ensure the strap is completely dry before wearing it again.
- Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the resin material.
Storage:
- Store the watch strap away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, which can cause the resin to degrade or become brittle over time.
- Avoid prolonged contact with strong chemicals or perfumes.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch strap, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
Strap Difficult to Install:
- Ensure Correct Spring Bar Size: Verify that the spring bars you are using are the correct length for your watch lugs and the strap.
- Proper Alignment: Make sure one end of the spring bar is fully seated in its lug hole before attempting to compress the other end.
- Use the Right Tool: A proper spring bar tool makes installation significantly easier and reduces the risk of scratching.
Strap Feels Loose After Installation:
- Check Spring Bar Seating: Ensure both ends of the spring bars are fully engaged in the lug holes. Gently pull on the strap to confirm it is secure.
- Incorrect Spring Bar: If the spring bar is too short, it may not properly engage the lug holes. Replace with the correct size.
Skin Irritation:
- Clean the Strap: Residue from sweat, dirt, or soap can cause irritation. Clean the strap thoroughly as described in the Maintenance section.
- Adjust Fit: A strap that is too tight can cause friction and irritation. Ensure a comfortable fit.
- Material Sensitivity: While resin is generally hypoallergenic, some individuals may have sensitivities. If irritation persists, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
