3. Setup

1. Prepare Game Units: Each player takes one game unit. Open the unit so that the battle grid (where your ships are placed) is flat and the target grid (where you mark your opponent's shots) is upright.

4. Gameplay

The objective is to be the first player to sink all 5 of your opponent's ships.

1. Starting the Game: Players decide who goes first.
2. Calling a Shot: On your turn, call out a coordinate (e.g., "A-5") on your target grid where you believe an opponent's ship is located.
3. Opponent's Response: Your opponent checks their battle grid at the called coordinate.
   • If there is a ship at that coordinate, they say "Hit!"
   • If there is no ship, they say "Miss!"
4. Marking Shots:
   • If it's a "Hit!": Place a red peg on your target grid at the called coordinate. Your opponent places a red peg on their battle grid at the same coordinate.
   • If it's a "Miss!": Place a white peg on your target grid at the called coordinate. Your opponent places a white peg on their battle grid at the same coordinate.
5. Sinking a Ship: When all coordinates of a ship have been hit, the ship is "sunk." The opponent must announce, "You sank my [name of ship]!"
6. Winning the Game: The first player to sink all 5 of their opponent's ships wins the game.
