1. Introduction

The Brannan Digital Kitchen Timer Model 290512 is designed for precise time management in various settings, particularly for cooking and baking. It features a large, clear digital display, a countdown function up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds, and an audible alarm. Its versatile design allows for multiple positioning options, including a stand, clip, hanging hook, and magnetic attachment.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open.
3. Insert one AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. A AAA battery is included with the timer.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

2.2 Positioning the Timer

The timer offers several convenient positioning options:

• Stand: Pull out the integrated stand fixture on the back of the timer to place it upright on a flat surface.
• Clip: The stand fixture also functions as a clip, allowing you to attach the timer to clothing or other thin objects.
• Hanging Hook: A small hole at the top of the stand fixture allows the timer to be hung on a hook.
• Magnetic Attachment: Utilize the magnetic fixture on the back to attach the timer to metallic surfaces, such as a refrigerator or oven door.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Button Functions

The timer features three primary buttons on its front panel:

• M (Minutes) Button: Press to set the desired number of minutes. Each press increases the minute count by one. Hold down for rapid increment.
• S (Seconds) Button: Press to set the desired number of seconds. Each press increases the second count by one. Hold down for rapid increment.
• START/STOP Button: Press to start or pause the countdown.
• CLEAR Function: When the timer is paused or at zero, press both M and S buttons simultaneously to reset the display to 00:00.

3.2 Setting and Starting the Countdown

1. Ensure the timer display shows 00:00. If not, press the M and S buttons simultaneously to clear it.
2. Press the M button repeatedly to set the desired minutes.
3. Press the S button repeatedly to set the desired seconds.
4. Once the desired time is set (e.g., 10 minutes, 30 seconds), press the START/STOP button to begin the countdown.
5. The display will show the remaining time, counting down second by second.

3.3 Pausing and Resuming

During a countdown, press the START/STOP button once to pause the timer. Press it again to resume the countdown from where it left off.

3.4 Alarm Function

When the countdown reaches 00:00, an audible alarm will sound. Press any button to stop the alarm.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To clean the timer, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.

4.2 Battery Replacement

If the display becomes dim or the timer functions erratically, it may be time to replace the AAA battery. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 2.1.
