4. Setup and Installation
Important: All electrical work must be carried out by a competent person and comply with current wiring regulations.
- Isolate Power: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the circuit is switched off at the consumer unit/fuse box.
- Mounting Location: Choose a suitable, flat surface for mounting. The unit is designed for outdoor use in gardens, patios, sheds, outhouses, and garages.
- Prepare Cable Entry: The mounting box features multiple knockouts (8 x 20mm entry points) for rear, side, top, or bottom cable entry. Select the appropriate knockout(s) and carefully remove them.
- Secure Mounting Box: Use the provided assembly screws to fix the mounting box to the wall. The unit features a 'Fast Fix Installation' design with 150° rotation, eliminating the need for separate screw covers during initial mounting.
- Wiring: Connect the electrical cables to the colour-coded terminals using the captive screws. Ensure all connections are tight and correct (Live, Neutral, Earth).
- Cable Entry Seal: The patented cable entry system helps prevent accidental opening and keeps plugs in place when the cover is closed. Ensure cables are routed correctly to maintain the IP rating.
- Attach Front Cover: Once wiring is complete, securely attach the front cover to the mounting box. Ensure the rubber wall fixing screw seal covers are in place if applicable.
- Close Clips: The unit features large cover clips for easier operation. Press firmly to close the clips and ensure the cover is sealed, maintaining the IP66 rating.
