3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  1. Remove all packaging materials, including protective films and tapes.
  2. Inspect the appliance for any transport damage. If damage is found, do not connect the appliance and contact your retailer immediately.
  3. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

3.2 Placement

  • Place the freezer on a firm, level surface. Use the adjustable feet at the front to level the appliance if necessary.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance. Leave sufficient space (at least 10 cm) at the back and sides for air circulation.
  • Avoid placing the freezer in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as radiators, ovens, or cookers, as this will increase energy consumption.
  • The appliance is designed for operation in a climate class ST (Subtropical), suitable for ambient temperatures between 16°C and 38°C.

3.3 Electrical Connection

  • Before plugging in, ensure the voltage and frequency indicated on the rating plate (220-240 V / 50 Hz) match your household power supply.
  • Connect the appliance to a properly earthed socket. Do not use extension cords or multiple sockets.
  • After positioning, wait at least 24 hours before plugging in the appliance to allow the refrigerant fluids to settle.

3.4 Door Reversal

The door hinge is reversible, allowing you to change the opening direction from right to left to suit your kitchen layout. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the full manual for step-by-step instructions on how to reverse the door.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Startup

After the 24-hour waiting period, plug in the freezer. The internal temperature will gradually decrease. Allow the appliance to run for several hours empty before loading food.

4.2 Temperature Control

The freezer features a manual temperature control. Adjust the thermostat dial to set the desired freezing temperature. A typical setting for optimal food preservation is between -17°C and -20°C. Monitor the internal temperature with a freezer thermometer if precise control is required.

4.3 Super Freeze Function

The Super Freeze function is designed to rapidly lower the internal temperature of the freezer. This is useful when adding a large quantity of fresh food to be frozen, helping to preserve its quality and nutrients. Activate this function approximately 24 hours before placing fresh food inside, and deactivate it once the food is frozen (typically after 24-48 hours).

4.4 Food Storage

  • Utilize the five transparent drawers for organized storage of various frozen items.
  • The two upper compartments with flaps are suitable for smaller or frequently accessed items.
  • Ensure food is properly packaged in airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
  • Do not overload the freezer, as this can impede air circulation and freezing efficiency.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Manual Defrosting

This freezer features a manual defrosting system. Frost build-up reduces the efficiency of the appliance. Defrost the freezer when the frost layer reaches approximately 5 mm thickness.

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power supply.
  2. Remove all frozen food and store it in a cool place (e.g., another freezer or insulated container).
  3. Leave the freezer door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. Place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
  4. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging the appliance back in and returning food.

5.2 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  • Clean the interior with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Regularly clean the condenser coils at the back of the appliance (if accessible) with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to maintain efficiency.

5.3 Power Outage

In the event of a power failure, the freezer can maintain the temperature for approximately 13 hours, provided the door remains closed. Avoid opening the door unnecessarily during a power outage to preserve the internal temperature.
