Operating Instructions
Cooking Capacity
The Ronco 6000 Series Rotisserie is designed to accommodate various food items. Its capacity includes:
- Up to 4 chickens
- Up to a 23-pound turkey
- Up to 11 hamburgers (using the rotisserie basket)
It is capable of feeding up to 10 people.
General Operation
- Preparation: Prepare your food item (e.g., chicken, turkey, roast) according to your recipe. For best results with whole poultry, tie the wings and legs securely to the body to prevent them from dangling during rotation.
- Loading Food:
- For whole poultry or roasts, use the rotisserie spit rods. Secure the food evenly on the spit.
- For smaller items like hamburgers or vegetables, place them in the nonstick rotisserie basket.
- Placement in Unit: Carefully insert the loaded spit or basket into the rotisserie unit, ensuring it is properly seated in the rotation mechanism. Place the drip tray at the bottom of the unit to collect drippings.
- Setting Controls: Close the glass door. Turn the control dial to the desired cooking time. The rotisserie operates at a preset temperature and precision rotation speed.
- Monitoring: Monitor the cooking process through the glass door. The specialized heating element and air vent positioning ensure even cooking.
- Horizontal Cooking Option: For certain recipes or to achieve specific browning, the unit offers a horizontal cooking option. Refer to your recipe guide for when and how to utilize this feature.
- Completion: Once cooking is complete, the unit will automatically turn off or signal the end of the cycle. Use heat-resistant gloves to carefully remove the food item and allow it to rest before carving.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Ronco 6000 Series Rotisserie.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Removable Parts: The glass door and nonstick parts (rotisserie basket, drip tray, grill grate cover) are dishwasher-safe. For manual cleaning, wash with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Interior Cleaning: Wipe the interior surfaces of the rotisserie with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn grease, a paste of baking soda and water can be used, then wiped clean. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can damage surfaces.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray after each use to prevent grease buildup and potential fire hazards.
- Storage: Store the rotisserie in a clean, dry place when not in use.
