3. Setup

Before wearing your watch, you may need to set the time and date. Your watch is powered by a quartz movement, which requires one unknown battery (included).

3.1 Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to position 2 (the outermost position).
  2. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  3. Push the crown back into position 0 (normal operating position) to start the watch.

3.2 Setting the Date

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1 (the first click).
  2. Turn the crown clockwise to advance the date. If the date changes during the day, you may need to adjust it by 12 hours.
  3. Push the crown back into position 0.

Note: Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this may damage the movement. If you need to set the date during this period, first set the time outside this window, adjust the date, and then reset the time.

4. Operating Instructions

Your Emporio Armani AR5920 watch features a chronograph function for measuring elapsed time.

4.1 Using the Chronograph (Stopwatch)

The chronograph function allows you to measure intervals of time independently of the main time display.

  1. Start: Press the upper pusher (button A) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
  2. Stop/Pause: Press the upper pusher (button A) again to stop or pause the chronograph. The hands will stop, indicating the elapsed time.
  3. Resume: Press the upper pusher (button A) again to resume timing from where it left off.
  4. Reset: While the chronograph is stopped, press the lower pusher (button B) to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.

4.2 Chronograph Sub-dials

  • 60-Second Sub-dial: Typically located at the 6 o'clock position, this sub-dial tracks the seconds of the chronograph.
  • 60-Minute Sub-dial: Often at the 9 o'clock position, this sub-dial records the minutes of the chronograph.
  • 24-Hour Sub-dial: Usually at the 3 o'clock position, this sub-dial indicates the time in a 24-hour format, synchronized with the main time display.

5. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Emporio Armani watch.

5.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the watch case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • For the silicone band, you can use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Water Resistance

Your watch is water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM / 165 feet). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or snorkeling. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.

5.3 Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a quartz battery. When the battery runs low, the second hand may start to jump in two-second intervals (End-of-Life indicator). It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

5.4 Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The original watch box is ideal for storage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your watch, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Watch Not Running:
    • Check if the crown is pushed all the way in to position 0.
    • The battery may need replacement. Refer to section 5.3.
  • Time is Incorrect:
    • Reset the time as described in section 3.1.
    • If the time consistently loses or gains significantly, the movement may require servicing.
  • Chronograph Hands Not Resetting to Zero:
    • Ensure the chronograph is stopped before pressing the reset pusher (button B).
    • If the issue persists, the chronograph hands may need calibration or the movement may require servicing.
  • Condensation Under Crystal:
    • This indicates a breach in the watch's water resistance. Avoid further exposure to water and seek professional servicing immediately to prevent damage to the movement.

For issues not covered here, or if troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, please contact an authorized Emporio Armani service center.
