Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the camera battery.

  1. Insert the rechargeable battery into the camera.
  2. Connect the USB cable to the camera's USB port and the other end to the AC adapter.
  3. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate.
  4. Once charging is complete, the indicator will change or turn off. Disconnect the charger.

2. Inserting a Memory Card (SD Card)

The camera supports SD memory cards for storing photos and videos.

  1. Ensure the camera is turned off.
  2. Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.
  3. Insert the SD card into the slot with the metal contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the cover securely.

3. Attaching the Strap

Attach the wrist strap to prevent accidental drops.

  1. Thread the strap through the strap eyelet on the camera body.
  2. Secure the strap by passing the larger end through the loop of the smaller end.

Operating Instructions

Turning On/Off

Press the Power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.

Using the Touchscreen LCD

The 3.0-inch main LCD is a touchscreen. Use your finger or the provided touch pen to navigate menus, select options, and review images.

  • Tap: Select an item or confirm an action.
  • Swipe: Scroll through menus or images.

Shooting Photos

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Point the camera at your subject.
  3. Use the zoom lever to adjust the focal length.
  4. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The focus frame will turn green when focused.
  5. Press the shutter button fully down to take the picture.

Using DualView (Front LCD)

The 1.8-inch front LCD is ideal for self-portraits and group shots where the photographer wants to be in the frame.

  1. In shooting mode, tap the front LCD or press the F.LCD button (if available) to activate it.
  2. Frame your shot using the front LCD.
  3. Press the shutter button to capture the image.

Recording Videos

The camera can record HD videos (1280x720 pixels at 30 frames per second).

  1. Switch to video recording mode (usually indicated by a camcorder icon on the mode dial or touchscreen menu).
  2. Press the shutter button to start recording.
  3. Press the shutter button again to stop recording.

Smart Auto 2.0

This feature automatically analyzes the scene and selects the optimal shooting mode from 17 photo and 4 movie modes.

  • To activate, select the Smart Auto mode from the camera's menu.
  • The camera will automatically adjust settings for the best possible shot.

Reviewing Images and Videos

Press the Playback button (often indicated by a play icon) to enter playback mode. Use the touchscreen to navigate through your captured media.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Camera

  • Camera Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.
  • Lens: Use a lens brush or a blower to remove dust. For smudges, use a lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning solution. Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
  • LCD Screens: Use the provided cleaner and a soft cloth to gently wipe the screens. Avoid excessive pressure.

Battery Care

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Do not expose batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
  • If the camera will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery.

Storage

Troubleshooting
