Introduction

The HTC 4000 Trans-Web Fusible Web is designed to transform various fabrics into iron-on materials. This product features a polyimide web on release paper, ensuring a complete and uniform adhesive coverage when activated by heat. It is suitable for a wide range of fabric projects, providing a durable bond that withstands machine washing and dry cleaning.

Product Overview

The HTC 4000 Trans-Web Fusible Web is an off-white, 100% polyimide adhesive web. It comes on a release paper, which protects the adhesive until heat is applied. Setup and Preparation

Before applying the fusible web, ensure your fabric is clean and pre-shrunk if necessary. Gather the following items:

Pre-heat your iron to the appropriate temperature for your fabric type. Avoid using steam during the fusing process unless specifically instructed by your fabric's care label or project requirements.

Operating Instructions: Application

Follow these steps for optimal application of the HTC 4000 Trans-Web Fusible Web:

  1. Cut the Web: Cut a piece of Trans-Web slightly larger than the fabric piece you intend to make iron-on.
  2. Attach to Fabric: Place the Trans-Web, paper side up, onto the wrong side of the fabric. Ensure the adhesive side of the web is in contact with the fabric.
  3. Fuse to Fabric: Using a dry iron set to the appropriate temperature for your fabric, press firmly over the paper backing for approximately 5-10 seconds. Apply even pressure. The heat will activate the adhesive, bonding it to the fabric.
  4. Cool and Peel: Allow the fabric and web to cool completely. Once cool, carefully peel away the release paper from the fabric. The adhesive should now be permanently bonded to the wrong side of your fabric, making it an iron-on piece.
  5. Position and Fuse: Position your newly prepared iron-on fabric piece onto your project fabric. Place a pressing cloth or parchment paper over the piece to protect your iron and project.
  6. Final Adhesion: Press firmly with a dry iron for 10-15 seconds, or until the piece is securely bonded to the project fabric. Ensure all edges are adhered.

Note: Always test on a scrap piece of fabric first to determine the ideal iron temperature and pressing time for your specific materials.

Care and Maintenance

Projects created with HTC 4000 Trans-Web Fusible Web are designed for durability and ease of care:

  • Ensure iron is set to the correct temperature for your fabric.
  • Apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface during ironing.
  • Increase pressing time slightly, testing on a scrap piece first.
  • Allow the fused piece to cool completely before handling or attempting to peel.
Adhesive does not transfer evenly.Uneven heat distribution; iron not fully pre-heated.
  • Allow iron to fully pre-heat before use.
  • Move the iron slowly and evenly over the entire surface.
