Setup

Before First Use

Remove any stickers or protective film from the soleplate. It is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric for a few minutes to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate and steam vents. A slight odor or small amount of smoke may occur during the first use; this is normal and will dissipate quickly.

Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
  2. Set the steam control lever to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam).
  3. Open the filling inlet cover.
  4. Fill the water tank with tap water up to the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill. For areas with hard water, consider using a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water.
  5. Close the filling inlet cover securely.

Connecting to Power

Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet (230 Volts).

Operating Instructions

Setting the Temperature

Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting based on the fabric type. The iron will heat up to the selected temperature. The indicator light will turn off when the desired temperature is reached.

Steam Ironing

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Set the temperature control dial to a steam-compatible setting (usually indicated by steam symbols on the dial).
  3. Once the indicator light turns off, indicating the iron is hot enough, move the steam control lever to the desired steam output position.
  4. Glide the iron over the fabric. The iron produces a continuous steam output of 35 g/min.

Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the steam control lever is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam). Adjust the temperature control dial according to the fabric type and iron without steam.

Steam Shot Function

Press the steam button to generate an extra burst of steam for stubborn creases. This function is most effective when the iron is at a high temperature setting.

Spray Function

Press the spray button to lightly mist the fabric with water, which can help in smoothing out wrinkles, especially on dry fabrics.

Vertical Steaming

The iron can be used for vertical steaming of hanging garments or drapes. Hold the iron vertically a few inches from the fabric and press the steam button repeatedly. Ensure the iron is at a high temperature setting for effective vertical steaming.

Auto Shut-off

For safety, the iron is equipped with an auto shut-off feature. If left motionless on its soleplate or side for a certain period, or if left upright for a longer period, the heating element will automatically turn off. To reactivate, simply move the iron.

Maintenance and Cleaning

After Each Use

  1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Empty any remaining water from the tank.
  3. Store the iron upright on its heel rest to protect the soleplate.

Cleaning the Soleplate

If the soleplate becomes dirty, clean it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use metallic scouring pads or abrasive cleaners as they can scratch the soleplate.

Descaling

The iron features an anti-calc system to reduce scale buildup. However, regular descaling is recommended, especially in hard water areas. Refer to the full instruction manual for specific descaling procedures, typically involving a self-clean function or a descaling solution.

Troubleshooting

  • Iron not heating: Check if the iron is plugged in correctly and if the power outlet is functioning. Ensure the temperature dial is set to a desired temperature and not 'Min' or 'Off'.
  • No steam or insufficient steam: Check if the water tank is filled. Ensure the temperature setting is high enough for steam production. Verify the steam control lever is in the steam position.
  • Water leaking from soleplate: This often occurs if the temperature is too low for steam generation. Increase the temperature setting. Ensure the water tank is not overfilled.
  • White flakes coming from soleplate: This indicates mineral buildup. Perform a descaling procedure.
  • Iron shuts off unexpectedly: The auto shut-off feature has been activated. Move the iron to reactivate it.
