1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your Sparmax TC2000 Stormforce Compressor. Sparmax has a long-standing reputation for designing and manufacturing high-quality oil-less compressors and airbrushing equipment. The TC2000 model is engineered to be maintenance-free, ultra-quiet, and lightweight, offering reliable performance for various airbrushing applications.
2. Safety Information
Read all safety instructions carefully before operating the compressor. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the compressor is connected to a grounded electrical outlet with the correct voltage (12 Volts). Do not operate with damaged cords or plugs.
- Ventilation: Operate the compressor in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block air vents.
- Pressure Safety: Never exceed the maximum recommended operating pressure for your airbrush or accessories.
- Moisture: Keep the compressor away from water or damp environments.
- Intended Use: This compressor is designed for airbrushing applications. Do not use it for purposes other than its intended design.
- Household Use: This product is intended for household use only.

4. Setup
- Positioning: Place the compressor on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area. The integrated handle allows for easy portability.
- Mounting the Regulator/Moisture Trap: Attach the clamp-style table mount to a sturdy surface. Connect the pressure regulator and moisture trap assembly to the mount.
- Connecting Air Hoses:
- Connect the 10-foot curly airline from the compressor's air outlet to the inlet of the moisture trap/regulator assembly.
- Connect the 10-foot braided airbrush line from the regulator's outlet to your airbrush. Use the appropriate adapter if necessary for your specific airbrush brand. The regulator features a double tap fitting, allowing two airbrushes to be connected simultaneously (though not powered simultaneously).
- Power Connection: Ensure the compressor's power switch is in the "OFF" position. Connect the power adapter to the compressor and then plug it into a grounded 12-Volt electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Flip the power switch to the "ON" position. The compressor will remain silent until air pressure is required.
- Automatic Operation: The TC2000 is fully automatic. It will only activate when the airbrush trigger is depressed, supplying air. This feature significantly extends the motor's lifespan. The compressor is designed to be ultra-quiet during operation.
- Pressure Regulation: Adjust the pressure regulator knob to achieve the desired air pressure for your airbrushing task. The compressor features an auto-off at approximately 60 PSI and an auto-on at approximately 40 PSI to maintain consistent pressure.
- Spraying: Begin airbrushing as usual. The compressor will cycle on and off as needed to maintain the set pressure.
- Power Off: When finished, release the airbrush trigger, allow the compressor to build pressure and shut off automatically, then flip the power switch to the "OFF" position. Disconnect the power adapter from the outlet.
6. Maintenance
The Sparmax TC2000 is an oil-less compressor, requiring minimal maintenance.
- Moisture Trap: Regularly check and drain any accumulated moisture from the moisture trap. This prevents water from entering your airbrush and affecting your work.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the compressor with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Air Leaks: Periodically check all connections for air leaks. If a leak is detected, ensure fittings are tightened properly. Applying PTFE (Teflon) tape to threaded connections can help create a better seal.
- Storage: Store the compressor in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor does not turn on. | No power, power switch off, faulty power adapter. | Check power connection and outlet. Ensure power switch is ON. Verify power adapter functionality. |
| No air output or low pressure. | Airbrush trigger not depressed, regulator set too low, air leak, clogged airbrush. | Depress airbrush trigger. Adjust regulator. Check all hose connections for leaks. Clean airbrush. |
| Compressor runs constantly. | Significant air leak in the system. | Inspect all connections, including the airbrush, hoses, and regulator, for leaks. Apply PTFE tape to threaded fittings if necessary. |
| Air line broken at fitting. | Physical damage to the air line or fitting. | Contact Sparmax customer support or your retailer for replacement parts. Often, the air line may be part of a larger assembly (e.g., with the regulator). |
