1. Battery Installation

The Cat Mate C3000 requires 4 x 'C' batteries (not included). Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

2. Assembly

Assemble the feeder components as follows:

1. Nozzle and Feed Mechanism: Insert the nozzle firmly into place until it clicks. Ensure the wire end of the feed mechanism is properly located into the recess on the end of the nozzle. Push the feed mechanism until it clicks.
2. Hopper: Place the food hopper onto the base unit.
3. Food Tray: Clip the food tray into place at the front of the feeder.

3. Setting the Clock

To set the current time:

• Press and hold the TIME button until the hour digit flashes.
• Adjust the hour using the + and - buttons.
• Press and release the TIME button again to set the minutes.
• Adjust the minutes using the + and - buttons.
• Press and release the TIME button once more to complete the setting.

4. Setting Meal Times

The feeder allows for up to three programmable meal times per day.

• Press and hold the FEED button until the meal time indicator (e.g., "Meal 1") flashes.
• Adjust the desired meal time using the + and - buttons.
• Press the FEED button to move to the next meal time (Meal 2, Meal 3).
• Repeat the adjustment process for each meal time. If a meal time is not desired, set it to "00:00" or an inactive time.
• Press and release the FEED button repeatedly until the current time is displayed to save settings.

5. Setting Meal Size

To set the amount of food dispensed per meal:

• Press and hold the FEED button for five seconds until "20" (default units) starts to flash.
• Use the + and - buttons to adjust the number of units to be dispensed. A common starting point for a medium-sized cat fed once a day is 5 to 7 units.
• Press and release the FEED button three more times to exit and save the setting. The display will return to the current time.

6. Initial Food Fill

Before first use, position the feeder on a firm, level surface. Fill the food hopper with dry kibble. Press the FEED and + buttons together (this is the "extra feed" function) to allow food to work its way fully down to the nozzle. Repeat as necessary until food is visible in the bowl.
