Product Overview

The Speakman Icon S-2251 Multi-Function Shower Head is equipped with 8 patented plungers that transform water into 64 high pressure sprays. By simply rotating the Anystream handle in either direction, you can transition between Intense, Rain and Flood spray patterns. The Icon’s modern, timeless frame is constructed entirely of remarkably durable solid brass.

Setup and Installation

Installation of the Speakman S-2251-PN shower head is straightforward. Please follow these steps carefully:

1. Preparation: Ensure water supply to the shower is turned off. Gather necessary tools: thread seal tape (Teflon tape) and an adjustable wrench.
2. Remove Old Shower Head: Unscrew the existing shower head from the shower arm. Clean any old sealant or debris from the shower arm threads.
3. Apply Thread Seal Tape: Apply thread seal tape clockwise to the outlet side of the shower arm. This helps create a watertight seal and prevents leaks.
4. Install New Shower Head: Thread the Speakman S-2251-PN shower head onto the shower arm by turning it in a clockwise direction. Tighten with an adjustable wrench. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging connections or the shower head.
5. Test for Leaks: Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks. If leaks occur, tighten slightly or reapply thread seal tape.

Safety Tips: Cover your drain to prevent loss of parts during installation. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. This showerhead is designed for optimal operating range of 20-80 PSI.

Operating Instructions

The Speakman S-2251-PN features the patented Anystream 360° technology, allowing you to easily adjust the spray pattern to your preference.

• Adjusting Spray Pattern: Locate the small lever on the side of the shower head. Rotate this lever to transition between the three distinct spray patterns: Intense, Rain, and Flood.
• Intense Spray: Provides a powerful, focused stream for deep rinsing and invigoration.
• Rain Spray: Offers a wide, gentle coverage, mimicking a natural rain shower.
• Flood Spray: Delivers a broad, drenching flow for maximum coverage.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Speakman shower head.

• Periodic Cleaning: Use a mild soap and warm water to clean the shower head. This helps maintain its appearance and prevents buildup.
• Drying: For best results, dry the shower head immediately after cleaning with a soft, clean cloth.
• Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use harsh and/or abrasive cleaners on the shower head, as these can damage the finish.
• Self-Clean Plungers: The shower head features self-clean plungers designed to resist hard-water buildup and sediment. To clear any accumulated minerals, turn the handle to the FLOOD position to let the water drain out after every use.
• Chrome Finish Care: For chrome finished shower heads, a solution of one part vinegar to one part water can be used to remove hard water deposits. Soak the shower head in this solution for about 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth. DO NOT USE vinegar/water treatment on any finish other than Chrome.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Speakman shower head, consider the following common solutions:

• Low Water Pressure:
  • Check your home's main water pressure control valve. A slight adjustment can significantly impact shower pressure.
  • Ensure the shower head's internal components are free from mineral buildup. Refer to the "Self-Clean Plungers" and "Chrome Finish Care" sections under Maintenance.
  • Verify that the flow restrictor, if present, is not obstructed. Some users choose to remove the flow restrictor for increased water flow, but this may impact water consumption.
• Leaking:
  • Ensure the shower head is securely tightened to the shower arm.
  • Check the thread seal tape application. Reapply if necessary, ensuring it is wrapped clockwise and covers all threads.
• Inconsistent Spray Patterns:
  • Rotate the Anystream handle fully through all settings to dislodge any debris from the plungers.
  • Perform a thorough cleaning as described in the Maintenance section to remove any internal mineral deposits affecting spray consistency.
