4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to install your Auto Fill Valve:
- Prepare Mounting Location: Identify a suitable location in your pond, tank, or skimmer where the water level needs to be maintained. This location should allow the float arm to move freely without obstruction.
- "Through-Wall" Installation: If mounting through a wall or bulkhead, drill an appropriately sized hole. Insert the threaded inlet of the valve through the hole. Place the gasket on the threaded portion on the outside of the wall, then secure it with the mounting nut. Tighten firmly by hand, then use a wrench for a final snug turn, ensuring not to overtighten.
- Connect Water Source: Attach a standard 1/2-inch pipe thread water supply line to the inlet of the valve. Use appropriate thread sealant (e.g., PTFE tape) to ensure a watertight connection.
- Adjust Float Arm: The float arm can be adjusted to set the desired water level. The arm can be positioned vertically or horizontally. Loosen the wing nut on the arm, adjust the float to the desired height, and then re-tighten the wing nut. The valve will close when the water level reaches the float.
