Operating Instructions

1. Powering On and Channel Selection

  1. Turn on the receiver by pressing the POWER button. The LCD display will illuminate.
  2. On the receiver, press the SET/SCAN button to initiate automatic frequency scanning. The receiver will search for and select the clearest available channel.
  3. Once a channel is selected, note the frequency displayed on the receiver's LCD.
  4. Turn on the body pack transmitter using its ON/OFF switch.
  5. Set the body pack transmitter to the same frequency as the receiver. This is typically done via internal switches or buttons within the battery compartment, often requiring a small tool (sometimes included). Refer to the transmitter's specific instructions for detailed frequency setting.
  6. Confirm successful pairing when the RF indicator on the receiver illuminates steadily.

2. Adjusting Audio Levels

  • Receiver Output Level: Adjust the VOLUME control on the receiver to set the overall output level to your mixer or amplifier. Start with a low setting and gradually increase.
  • Transmitter Input Gain: The body pack transmitter may have an internal gain adjustment. This controls the sensitivity of the microphone input. Adjust this to prevent distortion (clipping) while ensuring a strong signal.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace AA batteries in the body pack transmitter regularly, especially before critical performances. Consider using high-quality rechargeable NiMH batteries for cost-effectiveness and environmental benefits.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the receiver and transmitter. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Antenna Care: Ensure receiver antennas are not bent or damaged. For optimal performance, position them in a "V" shape.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the system in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No Sound Output
  • Transmitter or receiver not powered on.
  • Incorrect frequency setting.
  • Low or dead batteries in transmitter.
  • Audio cables disconnected or faulty.
  • Mixer/amplifier input level too low.
  • Ensure both units are powered on.
  • Perform automatic frequency scan on receiver and match transmitter frequency.
  • Replace or recharge batteries.
  • Check all audio cable connections.
  • Increase input gain on mixer/amplifier.
Interference/Static
  • Nearby electronic devices.
  • Other wireless systems on same frequency.
  • Weak signal due to distance or obstacles.
  • Relocate receiver away from interference sources.
  • Perform automatic frequency scan to find a clear channel.
  • Reduce distance between transmitter and receiver; ensure clear line-of-sight.
Audio Dropouts
  • Out of range.
  • Obstructions between transmitter and receiver.
  • Antenna issues.
  • Move closer to the receiver.
  • Ensure clear line-of-sight.
  • Check antenna connections and position.
