Setup and Installation

Before operating the Hot Max 125WFG MIG Welder, ensure proper setup and safety precautions are followed. This unit is designed for use with a 120 Volt, 15 Amp power supply.

Unpacking and Initial Inspection

  • Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  • Verify that all included items are present: 125 Amp MIG welder, ground clamp with 9’ cable, MIG gun with 10’ hose, Argon/CO2 regulator and 5’ gas hose, 2# spool of .030” flux core wire, .025”, .030”, and .035” contact tips, gas nozzle for gun, 10# spool adapter, and driver roller.
  • Inspect the welder and accessories for any signs of shipping damage.

Connecting Components

  • Ground Clamp: Connect the ground clamp cable securely to the appropriate terminal on the welder.
  • MIG Gun: Attach the MIG gun with its 10’ hose to the designated connection point.
  • Gas Connection (Optional): If using shielding gas (not included), connect the provided Argon/CO2 regulator and 5’ gas hose to your gas cylinder and the welder's gas inlet.

Wire Installation

The welder comes with a 2# spool of .030” flux core wire. The drive roller is designed to fit .025” to .035” wire.

  • Open the wire compartment cover.
  • Mount the wire spool onto the spindle, ensuring it rotates freely. Use the 10# spool adapter if necessary for larger spools (available separately).
  • Feed the wire through the guide hole and into the drive roller assembly. Ensure the wire is properly seated in the groove of the drive roller that matches your wire size.
  • Close the wire compartment cover.

  • Power On/Off: Use the main switch to turn the welder on or off.
  • Voltage Control: The welder features infinitely adjustable voltage control. Adjust this knob to set the desired welding voltage.
  • Wire Feed Speed Control: The wire feed speed is also infinitely adjustable. Adjust this knob to control the rate at which the welding wire is fed. Both voltage and wire speed can be adjusted while you weld for optimal performance.

Welding Process
