Key Features:

Setup and Installation

Mounting the Amplifier:

Choose a dry, well-ventilated location for mounting the amplifier, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure adequate airflow around the amplifier's heat sink for proper cooling. Use the provided mounting hardware to secure the amplifier firmly to a solid surface in your vehicle.

Wiring Connections:

  1. Power Connection: Connect the main power wire (typically 4-gauge or larger) from the positive terminal of your vehicle's battery to the amplifier's +12V terminal. Install an in-line fuse holder (60A recommended) within 18 inches of the battery.
  2. Ground Connection: Connect a ground wire of the same gauge as the power wire from the amplifier's GND terminal to a clean, unpainted metal surface on the vehicle's chassis. Ensure a good electrical connection.
  3. Remote Turn-On: Connect a remote turn-on wire from your head unit's remote output to the amplifier's REM terminal. This wire turns the amplifier on and off with your head unit.
  4. RCA Input: Connect RCA cables from your head unit's subwoofer or full-range pre-outs to the amplifier's RCA input jacks.
  5. Speaker Output: Connect your subwoofer(s) to the amplifier's speaker output terminals. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The QB1000D is stable down to 2 ohms.
  6. Daisy Chain (Optional): If connecting multiple amplifiers, use the RCA line outputs to send the audio signal to the next amplifier.

Operating Instructions

Initial Power-Up:

After all connections are made, reconnect the vehicle's battery. Turn on your head unit. The amplifier's power indicator light should illuminate (typically green). If the protect light illuminates (typically red), immediately turn off the system and check all wiring for shorts or incorrect connections.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No Power (Power LED Off)Blown fuse; Poor power/ground connection; No remote turn-on signal.Check amplifier fuses and in-line fuse; Verify power and ground connections; Check remote wire connection and head unit output.
Amplifier in Protect Mode (Protect LED On)Speaker short circuit; Overheating; Low voltage.Check speaker wiring for shorts; Ensure adequate ventilation; Verify vehicle's charging system.
No Audio OutputRCA cables disconnected/faulty; Gain set too low; Speaker wires disconnected.Check RCA connections; Adjust gain control; Verify speaker wire connections.
Distorted SoundGain set too high; Improper crossover settings; Speaker impedance mismatch.Reduce gain; Adjust LPF/Subsonic filter; Ensure speaker impedance is within amplifier's limits (2-ohm minimum).
Excessive HeatInsufficient ventilation; Low impedance load; Prolonged high output.Improve airflow around amplifier; Verify speaker impedance; Reduce listening volume or duration.
