Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of the bath waste and overflow assembly:

  1. Prepare the Bathtub: Ensure the bathtub drain and overflow openings are clean and free of debris.
  2. Assemble the Overflow: Attach the one-hole top elbow to the vertical PVC pipe. Ensure a secure fit.
  3. Install Overflow Gasket and Faceplate: From inside the tub, place the overflow gasket over the overflow opening. Position the polished chrome overflow faceplate over the gasket and secure it to the top elbow using the provided mounting screw. Do not overtighten.
  4. Connect Drain Assembly: From underneath the tub, connect the horizontal PVC pipe to the bottom of the vertical PVC pipe. Then, attach the drain shoe to the horizontal pipe.
  5. Install Pull & Drain Stopper: Apply plumber's putty or a silicone sealant around the underside of the flange of the pull & drain stopper assembly. Insert the stopper assembly into the bathtub drain opening from inside the tub.
  6. Secure Drain Stopper: From underneath the tub, place the drain gasket onto the threaded portion of the drain shoe and thread it onto the pull & drain stopper assembly. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench for a final snug turn, being careful not to overtighten.
  7. Test for Leaks: Fill the bathtub with water and check all connections for any signs of leakage. Tighten connections as necessary.

  • To Close the Drain: Pull the knob on the stopper upwards until it clicks into the closed position. This will seal the drain, allowing the tub to fill with water.
  • To Open the Drain: Push the knob on the stopper downwards until it clicks into the open position. This will allow water to drain from the tub.

Maintenance

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your Westbrass bath waste and overflow:

  • Cleaning: Clean the polished chrome surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or polishes that could damage the finish.
  • Drain Care: Periodically remove the pull & drain stopper and clean any hair or debris that may have accumulated to ensure proper drainage.
  • Gasket Inspection: Inspect rubber gaskets periodically for wear or damage. Replace if necessary to prevent leaks.
