Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Olympus VN-7000 Digital Voice Recorder. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device and retain it for future reference.

- Display Screen: Shows recording status, time remaining, battery level, folder, file number, and menu options.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the recorder.
- Slide the cover in the direction indicated by the arrow to open it.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct positive (+) and negative (-) polarity as marked inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Initial Power On and Time Setting
- Press and hold the PLAY button to turn on the device.
- The first time you power on, you may be prompted to set the date and time. Follow the on-screen instructions using the navigation buttons and PLAY button to confirm.
Operating Instructions
1. Recording
- Select a Folder: Press the FOLDER/INDEX button to cycle through folders (e.g., A, B, C, D).
- Start Recording: Press the REC button. The REC indicator will light up, and the recording time will begin counting.
- Pause Recording: During recording, press the REC button again to pause. Press it once more to resume.
- Stop Recording: Press the STOP button to end the recording and save the file.
2. Playback
- Select a File: Use the Forward/Rewind buttons to navigate to the desired recording.
- Start Playback: Press the PLAY button.
- Adjust Volume: Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons during playback.
- Fast Forward/Rewind: Press and hold the Forward/Rewind buttons during playback.
- Stop Playback: Press the STOP button.
3. Erasing Files
- Navigate to the file you wish to erase.
- Press the ERASE button.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted by pressing the PLAY button.
4. Connecting to a Computer
- Turn off the recorder.
- Connect the recorder to your computer using a USB cable (not included).
- The recorder will appear as a removable disk drive on your computer, allowing you to transfer files.
- Always safely eject the device from your computer before disconnecting the USB cable.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
