1. Introduction

3. Setup and Installation

The HY-C Stove Board can be installed in two primary configurations: as a floor protector beneath a wood-burning appliance or as a wall shield behind it. Always consult local building codes and appliance manufacturer's instructions for minimum clearance requirements.

3.1. Floor Protection

Place the stove board directly on the floor in front of or beneath your wood-burning stove or fireplace. Ensure the board extends beyond the appliance according to local regulations and appliance specifications to catch any falling embers or ash. The board should be placed on a flat, stable surface.

3.2. Wall Shield Installation

To use the stove board as a wall shield, it must be installed with an air gap between the board and the wall to allow for proper heat dissipation. The HY-C Wall Spacer Kit (Model #ULSK), sold separately, is recommended for this purpose. Follow the instructions provided with the Wall Spacer Kit for correct installation and ensure adequate clearance from the appliance.

For larger areas requiring protection, multiple stove boards can be connected using the HY-C Connector Kit (Model #ULCK), sold separately. Refer to the Connector Kit instructions for details on securely joining boards.

4. Operating Instructions (Usage)

Once properly installed, the HY-C Stove Board functions passively as a protective barrier. No active operation is required. Ensure that the stove board remains free of obstructions and is not covered by flammable materials.
