Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Lomography Spinner 360° camera. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the camera to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
1. Setup
1.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the Lomography Spinner 360° camera from its packaging. The package typically includes the camera body only. Inspect the camera for any visible damage before proceeding.
1.2 Loading 35mm Film
The Spinner 360° uses standard 35mm film. To load the film:
- Open the camera back by sliding the latch.
- Insert a fresh roll of 35mm film into the film chamber on the left side.
- Pull the film leader across to the take-up spool on the right. Ensure the film perforations engage with the sprockets.
- Wind the film slightly using the film advance knob until it is securely attached to the take-up spool.
- Close the camera back firmly until the latch clicks into place.
- Advance the film a few frames until the frame counter indicates '1' to ensure unexposed film is ready.

2. Operation
2.1 Taking a 360° Panoramic Photo
The Spinner 360° captures a full 360-degree panoramic image on a single, extended frame of 35mm film. Each panoramic shot uses approximately four standard 35mm frames.
- Hold the camera firmly by the handle with one hand.
- With your other hand, pull the cord attached to the ring on the handle and release it.
- The camera will spin 360° around its axis, exposing the film as it rotates. Ensure there are no obstructions during the spin.
- After the spin, advance the film to the next frame for the subsequent shot.
Note: The camera operates mechanically and does not require batteries.
2.2 Aperture Settings
The camera features manual aperture settings for different lighting conditions:
- Sunny: Use this setting for bright, outdoor conditions.
- Cloudy: Use this setting for overcast days or indoor shooting with ample light.
Adjust the aperture ring on the lens to select the appropriate setting.
2.3 Long Exposures
The Spinner 360° supports manual long exposures. For this, you will need to hold the shutter open for an extended period. This feature is best utilized with a tripod to prevent camera shake. The camera includes a tripod mount for stability.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning
Keep the camera clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution.
3.2 Film Handling and Processing
When sending your film for development, instruct the lab not to cut the film. The panoramic images are significantly longer than standard frames and require special handling during processing and scanning. If scanning yourself, consider using a specialized 35mm scanning mask kit designed to accommodate sprocket holes and extended frames.
3.3 Rubber Band Drive
The camera's spinning mechanism relies on a rubber band drive. If the camera's spin becomes inconsistent or stops, the rubber band may need to be replaced. Refer to Lomography's official support resources for guidance on replacing this component.
4. Troubleshooting
- Light Leakage: If you observe unexpected light leaks in your photos, ensure the camera back is securely closed. Check the light excluder seals inside the camera for proper positioning.
- Camera Not Spinning Properly: This can be due to a worn or improperly seated rubber band in the drive mechanism. Inspect the rubber band and replace it if necessary. Ensure your hand is not obstructing the camera's rotation during the pull-cord action.
- Film Door Latch Issues: If the film door does not close securely, inspect the latching tabs for damage. Avoid excessive force when opening or closing the camera back.
- Difficulty Scanning Panoramic Images: Standard film scanners and software may not be equipped to handle the extended frames and sprocket holes of Spinner 360° negatives. Specialized scanning masks (e.g., Lomography DigitaLIZA 35mm) and compatible scanning software (e.g., VueScan, SilverFast) are often required for optimal results.
