Operation

The DW 2000 Double Bass Pedal is designed for responsive and consistent performance. Practice with both feet to develop coordination and speed. Experiment with beater height, beater angle, and spring tension to find your preferred setup for various playing styles.

Playing Techniques

  • Heel-Down Technique: Keep your heel on the pedal board for control and lighter strokes, often used for jazz or softer dynamics.
  • Heel-Up Technique: Lift your heel off the pedal board for more power and speed, commonly used in rock and metal drumming.
  • Swivel Technique: Utilize ankle rotation for rapid double strokes, enhancing speed and endurance.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your DW 2000 Double Bass Pedal.

Cleaning

  • Wipe down all metal surfaces with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and sweat.
  • For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.

Lubrication

  • Periodically apply a small amount of light machine oil to moving parts such as the chain, cam, and spring rocker assembly.
  • Do not over-lubricate; excess oil can attract dust and dirt.

Inspection

  • Regularly check all screws, nuts, and bolts for tightness. Re-tighten as necessary.
  • Inspect the chain for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Examine the beaters for wear and replace if significantly worn.
