4. Installation Instructions

The AHB-112 cable is pre-assembled for easy installation. Follow these steps carefully to ensure proper function and safety.

1. Prepare the Pipe: Ensure the pipe surface is clean and dry.
2. For Plastic Pipes: If installing on plastic pipes, first wrap the pipe with aluminum foil tape. This helps distribute heat evenly and protects the plastic from direct contact with the heating cable.
3. Attach the Cable: Secure the heating cable along the length of the pipe using electrical tape rated for at least 80°C (176°F). Attach the cable every 6 inches to ensure firm contact with the pipe. Avoid overlapping the cable on itself more than once.
4. Thermostat Placement: The thermostat is located between the cold lead and the heating cable. Position the thermostat sensor directly against the coldest part of the pipe to ensure accurate temperature sensing. Do not place the sensor on the warmest part of the pipe.
5. Insulate the Pipe: After securing the cable, wrap the pipe and cable with at least 1/2-inch thick fiberglass pipe insulation. This insulation is crucial for energy efficiency and effective freeze protection.
6. Waterproof the Insulation: Cover the insulation with a waterproofing material, such as plastic wrap or duct tape, to protect it from moisture.

5. Operating Instructions

The EasyHeat AHB-112 pipe heating cable operates automatically via its integrated thermostat. There are no manual controls for activation or deactivation.

• The thermostat is designed to activate the heating cable when the pipe temperature drops to approximately 38°F (3.3°C).
• The cable will continue to heat the pipe until the temperature reaches approximately 45°F (7.2°C), at which point the thermostat will turn the heating element off.

• Ensure the cable remains plugged into a live, grounded outlet throughout the cold season for continuous protection.
