Key Features

  • 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) for water efficiency.
  • Standard left-hand trip lever included for convenient flushing.
  • Equipped with Class Five flushing technology for superior performance.
  • Durable porcelain/ceramic construction.

Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your KOHLER Wellworth toilet tank. Follow these steps carefully. Note that a supply line is not included and must be purchased separately.

1. Prepare the Tank

Ensure all internal components, including the fill valve and flush valve, are correctly seated within the tank. Verify that the tank gasket is properly positioned.

2. Attach Tank to Toilet Bowl

Carefully align the bolts on the bottom of the toilet tank with the corresponding holes on the toilet bowl. Lower the tank onto the bowl, ensuring a snug fit. Slide washers onto the bolts from underneath the bowl and hand-tighten the nuts. Use an adjustable wrench to finish tightening the nuts until the gasket is compressed between the tank and the bowl. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the porcelain.

3. Level the Tank

Use a level to ensure the toilet tank is level from front to back and side to side. If necessary, adjust the tightness of the nuts underneath the bowl to achieve a level position. Recheck with the level after any adjustments.

4. Connect Water Supply

Connect the water supply line to the inlet on the bottom of the toilet tank. Hand-tighten the connection, then use a wrench for a final snug turn. Do not overtighten. Turn on the water supply slowly and check for leaks at all connections. Allow the tank to fill completely.

5. Install Tank Lid

Once the tank is filled and all connections are secure and leak-free, place the tank lid on top of the tank.

Operating Instructions

To operate the toilet, simply press down on the left-hand trip lever. This activates the flush valve, allowing water to flow from the tank into the bowl. The tank will then automatically refill to the appropriate water level.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and efficiency of your toilet tank.

  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the tank with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the finish.
  • Internal Inspection: Periodically remove the tank lid and inspect the internal components for wear or damage. Check the fill valve and flush valve for proper operation.
  • Leak Checks: Regularly check for any signs of leaks around the base of the tank, the water supply line, and inside the tank. Address any leaks promptly to prevent water damage and waste.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your toilet tank, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Continuous Running Water:
    • Check the flapper or flush valve for proper sealing.
    • Ensure the fill valve is not overfilling the tank, causing water to spill into the overflow tube. Adjust the fill valve if necessary.
  • Weak Flush:
    • Verify the water level in the tank is at the recommended mark.
    • Check that the flapper opens fully during a flush.
  • Noisy Refill:
    • Inspect the fill valve for any obstructions or damage.
    • Ensure the refill tube is properly inserted into the overflow pipe.

For more complex issues, it is recommended to consult a qualified plumber or contact KOHLER customer support.
