Control Buttons:

  • CLOCK: Used to set the current time.
  • S: Used for selecting days of the week or program steps.
  • ON: To set ON times for programs.
  • AUTO: Switches the timer to automatic program execution mode.
  • OFF: To set OFF times for programs.
  • RND: Activates the random function.
  • +/-: Adjusts values (hours, minutes, program numbers).
  • RESET: Resets all settings and clears memory. This is a small, recessed button typically requiring a pointed object to press.

Initial Setup

  1. Charging and Reset: Upon first use or after a long period of inactivity, plug the timer into a live power outlet for approximately 10-15 minutes to charge the internal backup battery. After charging, locate the small recessed RESET button (often requires a pointed object like a pen) and press it firmly to clear all factory settings and ensure proper operation.
  2. Setting Current Time:
    • Press and hold the CLOCK button.
    • While holding CLOCK, use the S button to select the current day of the week (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
    • While holding CLOCK, use the +/- buttons to set the current hour.
    • While holding CLOCK, use the +/- buttons again to set the current minute.
    • Release the CLOCK button. The current time is now set.
  3. 12/24 Hour Display: To switch between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour display modes, press the CLOCK button and the +/- button simultaneously.
  4. Summertime Change: Press the CLOCK button and the RND button simultaneously to activate or deactivate the summertime (Daylight Saving Time) function. An 'S' or similar indicator will appear on the display when summertime is active.

Programming and Operation

Programming ON/OFF Times

The timer allows for up to 140 individual ON/OFF programs per week.

  1. Press the S button repeatedly until "PROG 1 ON" appears on the display. This indicates you are setting the first ON program.
  2. Use the S button to select the desired day(s) of the week for this program. Options typically include individual days, weekdays, weekends, or all days.
  3. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired ON hour.
  4. Use the +/- buttons again to set the desired ON minute.
  5. Press the S button again. "PROG 1 OFF" will appear.
  6. Repeat steps 2-4 to set the desired OFF time for the first program.
  7. Continue pressing the S button to cycle through "PROG 2 ON", "PROG 2 OFF", and so on, up to the maximum number of programs.
  8. Once all programs are set, press the CLOCK button to return to the current time display.

Manual ON/AUTO/OFF Mode

The timer has three operating modes:

  • AUTO: In this mode, the timer will execute the programmed ON/OFF schedules automatically. This is the standard operating mode for automated control.
  • ON: The connected appliance will remain continuously ON, overriding any programmed schedules.
  • OFF: The connected appliance will remain continuously OFF, overriding any programmed schedules.

To switch between these modes, press the AUTO button repeatedly until the desired mode (ON, AUTO, or OFF) is displayed.

Countdown Function

The countdown function allows you to switch an appliance ON or OFF after a specified duration.

  1. Press the RND button repeatedly until "COUNTDOWN" appears.
  2. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired countdown duration in hours and minutes.
  3. Press the RND button again to start the countdown. The display will show the remaining time.
  4. The appliance will switch ON or OFF (depending on its initial state) when the countdown reaches zero.

Random Function

The random function is designed to simulate occupancy by switching the connected appliance ON and OFF at irregular intervals within a set period, typically for security purposes when away from home.

  1. Press the RND button repeatedly until "RANDOM" appears.
  2. The timer will now randomly switch the appliance ON and OFF for short periods within a predefined time window (e.g., 6 PM to 6 AM).
  3. Press the RND button again to deactivate the random function.

Care and Maintenance

  • Clean the timer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the timer is unplugged from the wall outlet before cleaning.
  • Store in a dry place when not in use for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

  • Timer display is blank or unresponsive:
    • Ensure the timer is plugged into a live power outlet.
    • The internal backup battery may be depleted. Plug the timer in for at least 15 minutes to charge, then press the RESET button.
  • Appliance does not turn ON/OFF as programmed:
    • Verify that the timer is in AUTO mode.
    • Check that the programmed ON/OFF times are correct and for the right days.
    • Ensure the appliance itself is switched ON and functioning correctly.
    • Confirm the appliance's power consumption does not exceed 2000W.
  • Appliance (especially LEDs) glows faintly even when OFF:
    • This can be caused by a "leakage current" in some electrical systems. Try rotating the timer 180 degrees in the wall socket. This can sometimes resolve the issue by ensuring the live phase is correctly switched.
  • Cannot set programs or time:
    • Press the RESET button with a pointed object to clear all memory and restart the setup process.
