Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts are present: wrought iron rechaud stand, fondue burner assembly (including gel fuel can reservoir, flame adjuster, and burner cap).
- Assembly: Place the wrought iron rechaud stand on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Insert the fondue burner assembly into the designated circular opening within the rechaud stand.
- Fuel Preparation: The burner is designed exclusively for gel fuel. Ensure the gel fuel can reservoir is properly seated within the burner. Gel fuel is sold separately and must be purchased from a reputable supplier.

Operating Instructions
- Filling the Burner: If using liquid gel fuel, carefully fill the gel fuel can reservoir. If using a pre-filled gel fuel can, place it directly into the burner. Do not overfill or spill fuel.
- Lighting the Burner: Using a long match or lighter, carefully ignite the gel fuel. Keep hands and face away from the flame.
- Adjusting the Flame: The burner includes a flame adjuster. Slide or rotate this mechanism to control the heat output. Adjust the flame to achieve the desired temperature for your fondue.
- Placement of Fondue Pot: Once the burner is lit and the flame is adjusted, carefully place your fondue pot onto the top ring of the wrought iron rechaud stand. Ensure the pot is stable.
- Extinguishing the Flame: To extinguish the flame, use the burner cap to completely cover the flame opening. Ensure the flame is fully extinguished before leaving the unit unattended or attempting to move it.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Swissmar Rechaud and Burner.
- Cleaning the Rechaud Stand: Allow the wrought iron rechaud stand to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe the stand with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the wrought iron stand in water.
- Cleaning the Burner: Ensure the burner is completely cool and empty of fuel before cleaning. Wipe the metal components of the burner with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish.
- Storage: Store all components in a dry, cool place when not in use. Ensure the burner is empty of fuel before storage.
Troubleshooting
- Burner does not light:
- Ensure there is sufficient gel fuel in the reservoir or that the gel fuel can is not empty.
- Check that the flame adjuster is in the open position.
- Use a long match or lighter to ensure proper ignition.
- Flame is too high or too low:
- Use the flame adjuster to regulate the heat output. Slide or rotate the adjuster to increase or decrease the flame size.
- If the flame is consistently too low and cannot be adjusted, the fuel may be running low and require refilling or replacement.
